24.01.2022 Hosting our first home game was fun with President Craig Mercuri putting up his marquee by the courts and setting up his portable refrigerator stocked with cool drinks and fruit. On the court Longwood had 3 Division 1 players in their team against us which should have given them the edge but led by captain Chef (Craig) Mercuri who along with his son Marcello and Greg Rowe managed a clean sweep in the men’s to be up 16 games. The Longwood ladies are good with much improved Mad...i Andrews, Molly Redfern and led by Deb Seach clawed back the lead winning all 3 sets narrowly over Maizi Walsh, Gen Johnstone and Niki Sales. When Marcello and Maizi had a comfortable win in the first mixed it was still tight being 13 games up with 2 to play. Chef and Gen then won a great tie breaker securing victory by 8 games.A lovely day was had by all. Next week at Swanpool! See more
22.01.2022 Narrow loss to Avenel yesterday by 1 game. The standard in Section 2 has increased substantially this year due to the Section 1 format. Great tennis had by all.
20.01.2022 Another fantastic day of tennis at our home courts in Strathbogie today. Some great matches against the lovely team from Terip Terip. Big smashes, sneaky drop shots, left handers hitting their signature cross-court winners, a few aces from both teams, and of course those lucky shots that hit the top of the net and still make it over. Terip Terip won with 54 games overall to Strathbogie's 50. Thanks everyone for a great afternoon.
