25.01.2022 Why video is going to help you grow on instagram: It gets more exposure which means more engagement! We are seeing that videos are getting far more reach than posts on average. This means more eyes on your content! There has been a recent shift in the algorithm that favours video content especially reels! It sticks around. Not only does video content get more engagement than other content types, it typically sticks around for longer. Weeks after posting a reel I'll get... people sending me screenshoots that it is on their explore page! Video popularity is growing. With the success of Tiktok and now reels video content is increasingly becoming more popular. Talkin bout your generation. Okay not my generation but Gen Z. According to a YouTube survey, 50% of millennials and Gen Z generations said they couldn’t live without video in their daily lives. Gen Z have grown up with video content more than any other generation. Re purposing content! Film a reel on Instagram, ave it and upload to Tiktok! BOOM you are now on two platforms! It's personable. I talk a lot about being personable on social media and there is no better way to do it than through a video! It's another sales tool! If a picture can tell a thousand words, a video is worth at least a million. Which is just one reason why video is such a powerful sales tool.



24.01.2022 6 things you can do on the gram to help you get seen! Engage with your ideal audience. Go on hashtags your ideal audience would use on their photos and start engaging with them. Go on similar accounts to yours and engage with their followers. Use local hashtags so people in your city can find you!... Geotag your posts with your location Post stories daily Engage with your current followers so they see you and engage with you - this way you will show up on their feed. Use local hashtags on your reels

23.01.2022 What do I mean when I talk about daily engagement? While engagement is responding to DM's and comments that isn't what I am referring to. This engagement I expect you to check daily, you need to get back to your followers! When I talk about daily engagement I am referring to dedicating a period of time each day (preferably your peak time) to engage with people on Instagram who you think are your ideal audience. This is the best way to grow your account organically, while at ...the same time building a strong community on the gram! You can find these accounts via: #Hashtags - type a hashtags your ideal audience would use on their posts start engaging on recent posts of that hashtag. Other accounts - Find businesses that compliment yours (something in your industry but not the same as you) eg. They sell teapots you sell tea blends, go through their followers and engage with them. Or click on their most recent post and engage with people who liked that post. Chances are if they like a business similar to yours that might will be interested in yours too. Places - type a particular suburb, city of place in and go to the 'places' tab. Start engaging with relevant recent posts. Be genuine! Remember social media is still an exchange of energy, give the type of engagement you would like to receive!

23.01.2022 What is your ideal amount of followers? Most people respond to this question with 10k. My next questions is why do you want 10k? The response: To get the swipe up feature! Okay and why do you want the swipe up feature and how are you going to utilise it in your strategy? Most people can't answer this question. ... While having growth goals is amazing, it's important to think of why you want that amount of followers and keep it mind it's better to have 100 ideal followers that could turn into customers than 10,000 followers who aren't ever going to be interested in your business. On your way to 10k think of how you can work around not having the swipe up link. - Linking products in stories via Instagram shop - Using stickers that say "link in bio" - Have the best link possible in your bio - Using link tree or similar - Using call to actions often

22.01.2022 Your brand is how you make people feel. It's how people connect with you and how they perceive a brand. Here is a few things to keep in mind for your social media and website branding. (This post is a keeper save for later ) Your overall branding what feel does it give your audience? Approachable, luxury, budget, unique, ethical, eco friendly professional, personal etc. Your messaging, what you social posts say, your bio, the copy on your website. What is your mes...saging saying? This can 100% change peoples perception of your brand. Especially if you explain things in detail! (What makes your product/service special). Your imagery. What do your photos and graphics say about your brand? This also makes a huge difference! Professional photos can help elevate your brand and tell a beautiful story. Remember digital marketing relies very heavily on photos! Your pricing - is it high end, budget. Does it reflect the quality, sourcing, hand made aspects of your brand? Your pricing should align with all the above points! If the above points are done well you should be able to 'justify' your pricing. * Don't undersell yourself! All of the above. 21.01.2022 I think this is SUCH a hard one for many of us to learn. The number of times I hear: My Instagram isn't good enough so I stopped posting... My website is almost done I just have to get it perfect I'm not ready to launch my offering isn't perfect I can't move this box 1mm to the left so I gave up STOP Perfect isn't done because done is NEVER perfect. I am so guilty of working days nights and weekends without giving myself time off. This is your reminder that you NEED time off! Give yourself time away from your business - you'll come back more inspired trust me, even after one full day off! Instagram Live: Get people on your story at once! If you are going live be sure to let people know in advance so they are eager to jump on! IGTV: Longer videos on the gram. Teach people something, introduce yourself, answer questions. IGTV is great for videos that are too long for stories or that people will want to rewatch. Poll, Slider, Question, Quiz, and Countdown Stickers: Get people interacting with you with all the great stickers! Pinned Comments: pin your best comments to the top of your post for everyone to see! 19.01.2022 Let's talk imagery Photos are more important in the digital space than ever. Not only is social media super visual and heavily reliant on design and aesthetic so are websites! Which is usually where you are directing people to from your socials. Beautiful photography can do so many things:... Set you apart from your competitors Continue to set powerful branding Elevate your business from 'hobby' to professional Make your products look as good as they do in person (remember this is the only time someone will relate to your product if you are online only) Introduce your product in detail (make it irresistible) Introduce yourself if you are a service based business Show your space if you are bricks and mortar based A lot of the time businesses social media is completely let down by bad imagery that doesn't represent their brand or product well. This is even more important if you product/services are $$$ you need to make it look that way! This goes for websites too! A lot of the time you don't need a new website you need beautiful professional images to really paint a picture of your brand! 19.01.2022 1. Content Create valuable content your audience loves. Aim to add value. Identify your top performing content and post more of that! Identify content and repost or better yet recreate it. 2. Collaboration Create mutually beneficial relationships that help you grow, together. Think: shout for shouts (sfs), co-hosting giveaways, influencer collabs, co-creation... The list goes on.... 3. Show up. Not only does consistency build connection, memorability and top-of-mind positioning through repetition, but you’re also penalised by the Insta algorithm if you don’t post frequently enough. Your engagement is calculated on a spectrum over time, not on an individual post basis. So post daily if possible. 16.01.2022 Let's talk about bombardment strategy for socials. What is it? When there are lots of posts about the same event/business posted around the same time. Examples:... Everyone posting photos from an event and using hashtags and tagging the related people/businesses Multiple businesses posting about a giveaway at the same time Working with multiple influencers to post about your business/product launch at the same time Top tips: Make sure there is somewhere at your event that is a good place to take photos. A media wall, backdrop or blank wall. If you organise a bombardment giveaway make sure everyone knows what time to post - keep in mind time differences Don't be spammy. Whatever you post make sure it is visually appealing. If you are going to clog up someones feed make it worth it.

16.01.2022 Oh hey there if you are new here I'm Maddison. Here I am in my natural habitat I wanted to talk about being authentic. We hear this EVERYWHERE at the moment. Be authentic be yourself. What the heck does it actually mean? Show up on socials - yup show your face! Posts stories reels - people want to engage with people, not businesses. ... Don't fake it till you make it. Be honest and be yourself. You don't see me in a suit and heels because that's not who I am off the gram I show up exactly the same as if you'd meet me out and about. (Okay maybe my hair looks better on the gram ) Share your values and beliefs - your audience is likely to share them with you. Let your audience get to know you on a personal level. Ditch the smoke and mirrors - are you a one-man band? STOP using "we" start using "I". People want to interact with a person! You don't have to pretend to be a bigger business than you are. Being a small biz is your superpower! Don't take it too seriously. I know socials are a biz tool but you don't need to overthink it! Go with the flow trust your gut with what you post. 16.01.2022 How do you stay on top of always having good content? Plan in advance! Not only does it make you plan and design your posts strategically it takes a heck of a lot of pressure off having to post on the spot. Here's what I do:... 1. Make a 9 or 15 square grid in Canva so I can design multiple posts at once saving time and seeing how my feed will look. 2. Decide if the post content is to grow, sell or brand 3. Design the post to be eye-catching to my ideal audience and make them stop the scroll 4. Write the caption with a direct purpose: Sell Connect Generate leads Get great engagement Educate my audience Grow Announce/ inform And voila! For my own account, I plan around a week in advance and for clients, I plan30 days at a time. Even planning a post a few hours before it goes live is a huge help!

Stop worrying what your "competitors" are doing... Stop worrying about what other people will think STOP DOUBTING YOURSELF! You got this! Trust yourself and trust your journey. Get someone else to look over it who doesn't know you and get them to tell you what they think your business is Make sure your bio makes you STAND OUT... Offer value in your posts Post content and stories daily Engage with your ideal customers (IGTV on this soon) Look at your profile - is it visually appealing - would you follow your account if you came across it in your feed? Make new hashtags set and do hashtag research Look at accounts that are doing well in your niche, what are they doing differently to you?

14.01.2022 What questions you want to answer when creating posts: WHO can you help HOW is what you offer different? WHAT results can you get clients/customers?... WHY should people choose you? You need to be addressing these points often throughout your feed and stories. The more your audience feel like your service/product is just for them the more likely they are to choose your business!

14.01.2022 "I don't know what to write" is the most common Insta struggle. Save this post for later here are some ideas to get those creative juices flowing! Me myself and I - introduce yourself, share fun facts, share why you created your business, share your values and beliefs. If you have a team share everyone in your team. Product/ service - go into detail about a product or service, why is it so good, who is it good for? Make it irresistible! You can do this for each product/...service you have. About once a week pick one to talk about. Something fun! Share a funny quote, picture or meme. Ask people to tag a friend! Share some laughs with your audience. Value - this is why people follow accounts because they get something in return! Tips & tricks, recipes, a blog post, recommendations, how-to's anything that offers your audience value! It can be anything in your industry! FAQ - answer some questions you get regularly asked, or questions you think people will have. The less searching people have to do the more likely they are to buy/book from you!

13.01.2022 What the heck is community engagement? When I talk about community engagement I'm not talking about responding to comments and DM'S I EXPECT you to do this daily. So what is community engagement?... This is one of the techniques I use DAILY to GROW accounts full of potential customers! I do this for around an hr a day per account. Going out and engaging with people you think are your ideal audience! Going through hashtags your ideal audience use on their photos and engaging with them Going on other accounts in your industry and engaging with their follows - for example, I might go on an SEO specialists account and engage with their followers. Chances are if someone is interested in SEO they will be interested in social media as well Via location. Type in a city, suburb or physical place and engagement with those posts Engage with your current followers - stay top of their minds and feeds by engaging with your current supporters If you want engagement you gotta give it! Think of how many people's notifications you are going to show up in by doing this!

13.01.2022 Let's talk captions. How the heck do you get people to read the juicy stuff? 1. Eye-catching content. The content has to be engaging enough to make people want to read the caption. ... 2. Best line first. Make the first link of your caption the punch line...think blog article title, clickbait, the cover of a magazine. A one-liner that gets your audience interested! 3. Tone of voice. Don't speak to everyone. Speak directly to your target audience. This way they will feel like you are talking directly to them. Like the post was written just for them! 4. Have a purpose. What outcome do you want from the post? - Generate a lead? - Sell a product - Start a conversation - Educate your audience If you don't write your post with an ideal goal in mind people aren't going to magically do what you want them to. Sit down and think what is the purpose of this post? 5. POST THE POST! Posted is better than perfect!

13.01.2022 Busy as f*ck. How many times have you said I don't have time for social media? I get it! Being a small business owner there aren't enough hours in the day! But if social media is where your ideal audience are hanging out putting time and effort into social media can be what brings in the $$$. Everyone has time for $$$ right?... Block out time in your calendar/ to do list/ daily schedule: Time for engaging with your ideal audience Time for scheduling posts or planning out your feed Time for content creation whether its you doing it or you are working with a photographer. This includes creating stories and text posts made in Canva Time for answering DM's and comments Time for a stalk. Checking out what else is going on in your industry on social media!

Mobile friendly & optimised (80%+ of views are on mobile) About you page - this reassures your audience you are a legitimate business & lets them get to know you... Location! Let people know where you are based (even if you sell nationally and internationally) Beautiful imagery - no matter what you do having beautiful clear images is so important. Digital marketing relies so heavily on photos that tell a story Proof! Reviews, customers photos, case studies. Warm your audience by showing previous clients/customers positive feedback While there are lots of other points that make an amazing website these 5 will get you off to a good start!

10.01.2022 Where are you? I'm in Perth! When you go on my account you can see in my bio I have 'Perth, Western Australia'. Although I work with businesses all around Aus, I still like people to know where I am based. If you have a physical business it is imperative that you have your location - not just the city but your actual address or Suburb. This is super important for businesses like spas, gyms, hair salons, beauty salons, gift stores, clothes boutiques etc. A lot of the time we go to certain businesses because they are in a convent location to us, near our home or work place. Especially if it's somewhere you go regularly. If people can see at a quick glance where you are located they are more likely to book! Don't make people search on your website for your location make it easy and pop it in your business details in Instagram & Facebook.

I have clients with large followings who make consistent sales and leads from Instagram I have clients with small followings who generate 99% of their sales through Instagram ... A lot of the time they will be generating a similar amount of $$$ through Instagram REAL TALK A huge following doesn't guarantee sales or leads A small following doesn't mean your aren't successful or aren't making $$$ THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND People buy followers People buy accounts Engaged followers are the ONLY ones you need STOP letting your follower number get in the way of doing amazing things! Here are some things to remember and consider: If you launched in this half of the year and haven't been marketing prior to that don't expect a sell out season. Brand awareness and paid & organic marketing take time. Launching a website does not mean instant sales. ... Speak directly your audience remember who your ideal audience is. What are their pain points? What solution can you offer them? Talk about your product/service often. Remind your audience of the benefits you can offer. What makes your business unique and irresistible? Utilise stories to show each product/service in detail Use email marketing! Remind people to sign up via stories and posts! Be clear on dates. When do people need to place their order by to get their items in time for Xmas? - Use Instagram and an announcement banner on your website. Start early! Ramp up your marketing now to make sure you are seen for December! Be consistent! You should feel like you are repeating yourself!

08.01.2022 Trying to curate the perfect social feed is hard & time consuming! Here's your reminder than done is better than perfect! You'll never see results if you are too busy creating your feed and never posting it! You aren't posting everyday - it's great you are posting when you can and really thinking about your posts.... You didn't have time to do engagement because something unexpected came up- that's okay! Maybe you'll get a chance tomorrow. You forgot to post because you were at dinner - I hope you had a great dinner and it was super yummy! You mucked up the pattern in your feed. I've been there before! You are only human and honestly that's not going to turn people away don't worry about it! You missed your ideal time to post. This can be going into detail about a certain product explaining what makes it... so special, creating FOMO (fear of missing out) only a few left! Appointments for this week are filling up quickly... Remember #communityovercompetition they do their thing you do yours. ... I can guarantee you that their business is different to yours! You do you, put all you time energy and focus into your own account and biz and you'll soon forget about what everyone else is doing!

Do you know what most of them teach?... Real marketing techniques that don’t change every 5 minutes. No breaking the mainframe or reinventing the wheel. Good old fashioned marketing techniques and strategies. Don’t get me wrong it’s important to keep up with changes to social media (hello reels). But the most important things is to keep your audience happy! What type of posts does your audience engage with most? Start making more of this style of content What are your audiences pain points? How does your product/service solve these pain points? How can you provide even more value to your audience? Stop worrying about the algorithm And start focusing on your audience!

This content is amazing because it works as a review and gives you social proof while also giving you extra content! Here are some ways to encourage UGC: Have a flyer that goes in all your packages that states your insta handle and custom hashtag - don't be share you can put something like "we would love to see your photos"... Use your mailing list and social media to run a competition for people who tag you and use your hashtag, this encourages everyone who has previously bought from you to get snapping! Offer a discount code for anyone who tags your product in a pic!

05.01.2022 Let's talk pet peeves on websites. My number one pet peeve is pop ups I can't get rid off! I'm all for a discount code for subscribing but I hate when I'm on my phone and I can't cross off the pop up off! Just let me shop My other one is websites (any website) that doesn't have an about page. If I am uncertain about a website that I haven't been on before I always go looking for an about page, a little bio and a photo are so reassuring that a real person owns the business. On the weekend I try and keep off my screens as much as possible and get outside as much as I can.
