24.01.2022 The Boite presents Sweet Sound Ensemble Sweet Sound aspires to create a fusion of musical culture. The group was established by Classical Singer and Songwriter Shirin Majd/Sweet Sound in 2000 in Iran. Sweet Sound ensemble explores a fusion of musical styles by presenting programs that take the audience on a journey through diverse musical traditions, recognizing the artist’s Persian roots, and traveling well beyond them geographically and artistically. Sweet Sound creates u...nique interpretations of well-known Western Classical/Jazz Music and Iranian folk music. For non-Farsi speakers, the subtlety of the ensemble name can be lost. A popular girl’s name in Iran, Shirin means sweet or sugar in Farsi. This is the ensemble of a very sweet singer. Shirin trained initially in Iran where she also performed in prestigious venues, then in Armenia and Austria where she trained and performed. Her move to Australia gave her the opportunity of making a solo career, something no woman can do in Iran. Her performances have embraced a variety of styles, across Western, classical, opera, and folk styles, and now she includes new work she has composed. Her large productions, in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane have reached further across genres to include dance and visuals. For this Boite online concert, the offering will be simpler, a direct and beautiful opportunity to engage with the artists. Shirin will be singing a selection of love songs with Amanda Rosenfeld on piano and Padraig Parkhurst, electric guitar. Shirin believes that music is a fusion of sweet sounds that come from the heart to touch the hearts of the audience. ALL TICKETS $5 https://events.humanitix.com/5-concerts-for-5 3:30pm Sunday October 25 th 2020
