24.01.2022 We love getting questions from our Ninja community. This great question came in from Cynthia. My bokashi bin is getting a lot of condensation, does that mean I’m using too much spray? It’s ok to have some condensation, I sometimes wipe the lid with a paper towel. ... The moisture depends on the type of scraps, the amount of spray and the temperature i.e. the hotter it is, the quicker the scraps will ferment. But yes, reduce the spray a bit, because you don’t want too much moisture inside the bucket. Make sure it stays vinegary. Keep adjusting, you’ll get to know your bokashi. This community garden has been here for over 15 years. What a commitment to the community and well done to the amazing locals who give their time there. And the bonus... they are in desperate need for compost!! ... 03.01.2022 TIP - FOR THE LOVE OF LEMONS Thanks to @familyecolife.qld for their 3 easy ways to use lemon after it's been squeezed... REFRESH THE KETTLE Just pop some cut up pieces of used lemon into the kettle & boil away.... CLEAN THE MICROWAVE Place some lemon wedges in a coffee cup or glass jug with some water & give it 2 min on high. Wipe over after and it's done. CHOPPING BOARD Simply sprinkle some salt on the chopping board & use a 1/2 chunk of squeezed out lemon & scrub. Works amazing & no nasty chemicals.
