25.01.2022 Some very clever work here..need to look closely for some.
15.01.2022 Focus and priorities are our prompt today for #marchmeetthemaker day 15. My focus will always be making art, bettering myself through learning and practising. Yet I still need to focus on the daily juggles that come with having a small business. As you all would know, there are many if you have a small business. ... I’m, not a great lover of spending time on social media advertising Bold Colour Art, so that is something that I need to focus on more, but still keep productive in other ways. Ideally, I would like to have a team that I could delegate tasks too, so I could paint and create more. This is something that I’m working on for the future. For now, I need to be a bit of a circus performer and juggle accordingly. When I look back, even 12 months ago, I give myself a little pat on the back. I have come such a long way but I will never forget why I do art. Just to divert a little, here are a few non-business orientated, fun facts about the person behind Bold Colour Art. I can’t roller skate but used to ice-skate. Can only drive an automatic car. Im scared of spiders. I can’t draw but wish I could. I play the piano. I'm ambidextrous with most things. Tell me something quirky about yourself. Bold Colour Art is all about bringing joy and happiness to everyone through my art. Follow the link in my bio to see more of what I do and grab yourself or someone else a gift. #MarchMeetTheMaker2021 #makersgonnamake #creativesmallbusiness #marchmeetthemaker #mavacollective #mixedmediaabstract #intuativeartwork
13.01.2022 A few minutes of interesting facts about oil paints.
08.01.2022 Wow, what a week. Been off the grid for a few days but I’m back now. Today’s post is a three in one for #marchmeetthemaker. From the archive, Colour and Silver linings. Art came to me later in life, so my archive picture only dates back to 2016. I made a mixed media piece of a faceless girl on a swing. I called her Contemplation. ... Next to it is one of my latest, very textured pieces called Mystique. This is more the style of art I’m drawn toward at the moment, as its full of different textures and materials, and I play more with colours. There have quite a few changes over time, especially in the last year. Looking at them both, I feel a real sense of growth. I’ve come quite a long way with technique, style and a general understanding of art. Im looking forward to learning so much more in time to come. I have also included a picture that shows some colour and technique progression throughout the years. This is only a small snippet of what I have. I’m still quite partial to the blues and greens but do branch out, especially if I have a commission. Guess you could call me a bit of a colour magpie. I love all colours, the bolder the better, as my business name suggests, Bold Colour Art. I use them all. Like us all, 2020 was difficult in so many ways, but there were some silver linings. Art became my strength and kept me going. I met some fantastic people and formed what I hope will be life long friendships. I learnt how to zoom to help keep me connected with family and friends. Learnt how to online shop, and slow down to keep my sanity. I completed a few online art workshops which have helped steer me in the direction I am going in now. Most of all I learnt to appreciate more of what I have. What was a silver lining for you out of 2020? #marchmeetthemaker #mmtm2021 #MarchMeetTheMaker2021 #makersgonnamake #creativesmallbusiness #intuitivepaintings #creativewithcolour #mixedmediaaustralia #smallbusinessmelbourne #naturepainters
