25.01.2022 Bolton Clarke has a long history of care. From a single nurse walking the streets of Melbourne attending to the poor and sick in their homes, to 'Kingshome' - the very first Queensland War Veterans' Home in Taringa, we honour the work two of our organisations early leaders, Sir William Bolton and Lady Janet Clarke started. Lawrence loves to spoil his wife with flowers, chocolates and of course roses on Valentine's Day. This year, they will both celebrate their 90th birthdays! She oversaw our Fernhill community in the 1980's and was awarded an OAM in 1994. She began her nursing career at 17, training in Victoria, going against her family's wishes that she take on secretarial work. She worked at Ferhill for over 18 years.
