08.01.2022 At first glimpse it might be hard to see what a retirement village resident from Bribie Island has in common with someone living rough in Melbourne. The clue is in the face mask. In partnership with Masks for Mates, Bongaree village resident Gaby has been sewing face masks to send to Bolton Clarke's Homeless Persons Program for Melbourne's rough sleepers. ... She oversaw our Fernhill community in the 1980's and was awarded an OAM in 1994. She began her nursing career at 17, training in Victoria, going against her family's wishes that she take on secretarial work. She worked at Ferhill for over 18 years.
