24.01.2022 Did you know that the "Clarke" in Bolton Clarke comes from Lady Janet Clarke - a philanthropist and community leader who was a driving force behind the Melbourne District Nursing Service in 1885? She played a big part in our organisation's history and is one powerhouse of a woman to celebrate this #InternationalWomensDay.

From a single nurse walking the streets of Melbourne attending to the poor and sick in their homes, to 'Kingshome' - the very first Queensland War Veterans' Home in Taringa, we honour the work two of our organisations early leaders, Sir William Bolton and Lady Janet Clarke started. 12.01.2022 Anna celebrated her 100th birthday today. She grew up in the Netherlands, leaving school at twelve years old she worked in the family business of accounting. An outdoorsy type, Anna enjoyed camping and bush walking and grew her own vegetables. She and her husband Frank had two sons and together they owned and managed the Post Office at Cudgen Village and have been well known in the local community. Anna has lived at Bolton Clarke Darlington since 2008, and today celebrated her birthday with morning tea surrounded by family, friends and our team! #happybirthday #centenarian
