18.01.2022 Retirement village resident Peter has been living & volunteering at Talbarra for 2 years. He visits the aged care community weekly to run a discussion, games & reminiscing group. Peter always comes prepared having researched an exciting topic on his computer the day prior. Here he is setting up a pizza party for fellow volunteer Robyn's birthday. Picture two shows Peter, Robyn, Linda & Marilyn. Activities Officer Heather says they all help nurture the residents social & emotional wellbeing. 08.01.2022 Meet Lynne, she is a #volunteer at Talbarra residential aged care community. Her mother is a resident and she generously donates her time to the site helping the team members holding events and activities. She dresses up for Easter, Christmas, Mothers Day and St Patricks Day every year plus she holds social high teas and birthday parties for residents.

08.01.2022 It was fun for the whole family at the Talbarra Family Fun Day! Great atmosphere, classic cars, crafts, BBQ, fun for the grand-kids on the jumping castle and 101 year old Ivy was very pleased to hold a lamb.

She oversaw our Fernhill community in the 1980's and was awarded an OAM in 1994. She began her nursing career at 17, training in Victoria, going against her family's wishes that she take on secretarial work. She worked at Ferhill for over 18 years.

04.01.2022 What is it like to be a Veteran who has experienced mental health issues? Veterans are an important part of the past, present and future of Bolton Clarke (formerly RSL Care + RDNS). We have been caring for veterans in the community, our retirement villages and residential care homes for over 100 years. Our service personnel dedicate their lives to serving our country, and it is our honour to serve them in their time of need. Bolton Clarke's Veteran Family Toolkit was develope...d in conjunction with the Bolton Clarke Research Institute and Altura Learning with the support of almost 100 current and ex serving ADF members, their families and ex service organisations. The first module in our Veteran Family Toolkit explores the personal stories of four veterans, encompassing their experiences of deployment, returning to the civilian world and living with #PTSD. With an overall message of hope, each of these Veterans offer a unique insight into life after the military.

From a single nurse walking the streets of Melbourne attending to the poor and sick in their homes, to 'Kingshome' - the very first Queensland War Veterans' Home in Taringa, we honour the work two of our organisations early leaders, Sir William Bolton and Lady Janet Clarke started.
