24.01.2022 Today was our first opportunity for the Cherubs to try out our new 4 seater pram when we went for an excursion to the lake. A lovely time was had by all Cherubs, collecting flowers along the way, splashing in the water and throwing rocks, not to mention climbing a tree and playing with the balls.

24.01.2022 We ventured next door with our garbage bag and tongs for our first BIG big bush clean up session early this morning. Please send your child in enclosed shoes tomorrow if you would like them to help clean up our community.

24.01.2022 It's a wonderful day for RAIN play! Not only is it lots of fun to jump in puddles and collect rain drops, it is also a great sensory experience, allows children to be in the moment (wellbeing) and reinforces lots of literacy/numeracy concepts such as empty/full, wet/dry, hard/soft etc. Please remember to pack spare clothes for your child as our spares are running low. Thank you x

22.01.2022 There is always so much excitement and laughter from the children when Joel the Magician from @JD'sWorldofMagic visits the centre.

22.01.2022 Just a reminder that this week is CrAzY Week.... Can't wait too see the children's crazy hair, clothes and accessories!Just a reminder that this week is CrAzY Week.... Can't wait too see the children's crazy hair, clothes and accessories!

21.01.2022 The children had a busy day prepping vegetables for lunch and picking and tasting snow peas grown in the garden and using the vegetable scraps to feed the worms. These experiences link to the centre philosophy promoting and encouraging sustainable practices within the service When the children planted the snow peas they measured themselves on the to see how tall the snow peas would grow using this as a tool for understanding Math concepts of measurement and numbers. Maybe you could grow some beans, peas or snow peas at home and see how big they grow or do some gardening and enjoy the fresh produce from your own back yard or even encourage your children to help peel and cut the veggies.

21.01.2022 What a wacky ending to a wacky week with wacky faces and a wacky outdoor set up!

21.01.2022 Each year our centre likes to give back to the community and support those people who may be struggling during this time. This year we have chosen to support the Soul Cafe and create some hampers with the children at the centre. If any families are interested in picking up one or two items listed below while doing your grocery shopping we will use these donations to pack into bags to help this great organisation.

20.01.2022 THIS WEEK, PRESCHOOLERS HAVE BEEN PARTICIPATING IN THE ‘PERFORMING ARTS’ AND WE ARE LOVING IT! So far we have acted out Goldilocks and the three bears (look at baby bears pretend crying ), Crocodile Beat and We're going on a bear hunt. There has also been some fabulous role play in our Police Station which was created as a follow up to the children's interest.

20.01.2022 Lots of great active experiences happening this week as we reinforce the importance of being active and developing fundamental movement skills.

19.01.2022 Lots of creative CrAzY fun making these hats with some great posed 'CrAzY' faces for the photo.

19.01.2022 Our carrots were ready to be picked and the children had a great time pulling these out of the garden and were entertained by the different shapes and sizes that they were. The children helped to wash the carrots in a tub so they were ready to eat. During group time the Preschool children measured them and put them in order from biggest to smallest using the ruler to measure. This promoted numeracy skills including number recognition, counting, measuring and size (big or small).

16.01.2022 We thought we would share this useful information with families about what school readiness can look like. If you have any questions regarding your child being ready to commence Kindergarten in 2021 please don't hesitate to speak to the Preschool Room educators.

14.01.2022 Today is Early Childhood Educator Day. A day to say thank you for the amazing job educators do to care for and educate children. Everyday is different in early childhood and we would like to say a BIG thank you to our awesome team at BPCCC for the relationships they have with the children and families, the teachable moments and play experiences along with the fun, laughter and creativity they bring to the centre.

14.01.2022 Making choices, being independent, getting along with others and becoming confident to safely explore community spaces are all valuable life skills. Today is day two of sandwich week in the preschool room and not even a few raindrops stopped us from enjoying a picnic in nature.

14.01.2022 Look at us go! This morning friends and educators had lots of fun using our listening ears and our drumming hands to make some BIG noise with Craig from Kids on Congas :)

14.01.2022 Fundraising idea Over the years we have done a https://www.pictureproducts.com.au/ fundraiser where children can create their own plate along with some other products (mug, clock, calendar, bags etc) If there is enough interest this is something that we can look at doing this year. Could be a great present for the Grandparents, a great keepsake of your child's artwork and a fun way to get your children to eat their dinner! These plates would be approx $28 each. Put a below if this is something that you would be interested in.

06.01.2022 The Cherubs have enjoyed another great excursion to the lake today. We were lucky to have a cool day to run around and connect with nature. Because it was a windy day there were some little waves so our Cherubs were a little cautious at first but before long they got their confidence up and were very wet They loved the great open space to run free, kick the balls, find feathers and climb trees.

04.01.2022 The Preschool Children have shown an interest in writing letters and chose to write a letter to Toronto Fire Brigade to invite them to visit our centre and share with us how to keep safe in a fire and perhaps look at the fire truck. This experience promotes literacy skills, the ability to share ideas and connect with others in the community. Do you know anyone else we could write to in our community?
