25.01.2022 A young(er) Baz in his original A type. And hell let anyone in it.

25.01.2022 Another Easter National Meeting photo expose, well almost because it wasn't over Easter but a week touring around Tasmania in 2001. They start waiting to board the ferry, one, onboard. There is one of birthday boy Anthony D. trying to hit a piñata, while others show a couple of Bolwells, entered into that years Targa. Plenty of old members we don't see around any more. Mores the pity. Enjoy.

24.01.2022 CLUB CALENDARS: This first batch is from the last century. Starting in 1977. Some could still be available by contacting the SA Branch.

24.01.2022 During some of our Easter National gatherings and meet ups, we come across something of a rarity, even for Bolwell owners. There is only one in each state (except for one at this moment, that we are aware) a Nagari with a personalised number plate showing that name. We are unable to locate that plate in NSW, although it has apparently been taken as its not for sale from their transport authorities. So if anyone knows who has it, or the owner is willing to post a photo of it here, we would greatly appreciate it. The first one is a collage of the plate from Victoria, where the red roadster wore this plate, before the factory purchased it and is now on the 500 prototype. Could make a good club calendar.

23.01.2022 This time is a little different. Your opinion(s) are wanted on different aspects of owning and driving a Bolwell. Of course they are many and varied, cause everyone has different ideas. This week we take up the case for having a classic steering wheel or a modern smaller one, that is more manageable or those who have both. One for show and tell, and one for normal driving or sprinting. Does a classic large one get in the way with drivers with long legs, larger torsos, etc. It's probably the same old same old for most Nagari owners, having mostly the same one from the factory in most cases. Do you prefer dish type or straight ones. It's all a matter of your choice. Photos please would be nice with your answer.

23.01.2022 Last time we adventured to Thredbo and Jindabyne in the Snowy Mountains. Not so long ago (well 6 years to be exact) we went back to stay at Tumut. Another great time was had by all. Except for a couple of gents who either had their gear box blow up on the way to the show and tell, or another whos wheels Just went off the bitumen at the motorkhana and it didnt end well. Long tow back and bloody cold waiting for the lift to come back.

23.01.2022 Heres a few more photos of it. Even been used as a coffee table.

21.01.2022 Administrators Note: A menu section is now available on the left hand side. This will contain a small dedicated history of the Bolwell Corporation along with photos of each classic model and its history. This is still work in progress.

20.01.2022 A new separate page has been created for members to share and upload photos of their rebuild project(s) of the Bolwell kind. Any one rebuilding, restoring or even repairing a Bolwell, even its just mechanical, can become a member but its private so you have to apply to be a member. Its called the Bolwell Restoration Group. It doesnt matter the time frame when the work was done, whether its present day or years ago. So hopefully many will become involved and it will be a success. Its up to you. Enjoy.

18.01.2022 Here is another under the heading of "One off Bolwell." What's your thoughts on it?

18.01.2022 The Bolwell history in motor sport is both long and proud. It really dates back well before club events existed. But who drove a Bolwell either in a legitimate motor race or hill climb is extremely hard to find. Who, where and when would be the answers to this question. The earliest reference that could be found was a cover of Australian Autosportsman magazine in April 1964 showing a Mk1V racing at Calder Raceway, but no name who was driving it. But guess what, its on ebay f...or sale at time of this posting. And it leads off this display followed by the Mk111 or Elgraram. There are static shots and racing shots. Some are extremely old rare photos (and it shows), while others are recent club events like circuit sprints and regularities. While many fine photos of the old days were mainly black and white, for this exercise there are only coloured snap shots. There could be the same vehicle in different colours in some of the photos, but it should give you an idea of how far back Bolwell motor sport has travelled. If you feel you would like to contribute to the Bolwellfest, your more than welcome to add more.

18.01.2022 Its been 1 year since our tremendous trip to Phillip Island to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Nagari.

18.01.2022 Well Barry Currie of the WA kind has set the bar and I've accepted the challenge. Here we have my Saturday night pizza pickup and return. You can hear all the b...umps and squeaks the old girl hands out but it's still a pleasure to drive. Bit of entertainment near the end of the second clip. Don't say I didn't warn you. See more

17.01.2022 This is how they should be driven.

17.01.2022 This week we are concentrating on Mk 7 convertible/roadster vehicles that have been completed to road registered condition. If there are others that are not apart of this photo collection, you are more than welcome to share them with us all here. The same also goes for a more updated photo(s) of the ones in this group.

16.01.2022 Today we finish our collection of club calendars to date.

14.01.2022 As the saying goes: And there's more. Remember the young(er) Baz shot well there's the older one as well. Then at the last shot, the white knight appears.

13.01.2022 Here are the final photos from this location including a couple of the accomodation so Im hoping this will give it away. Another cryptic clue is: There are some members wearing the shirt from this Easter that didnt attend.

12.01.2022 It’s time we believe to turn to that model either you love or love to hate. There’s not much room in between members thoughts about it. The much maligned Ikara or MKIX. It’s a fun car and in certain hands, can control the much larger powered Bolwells’ around in motorkhanas. We have produced some quality reading material, some even by Campbell, in his own words, in which he gave the reasons and his philosophy in why the factory wanted one last shot at an Australian sports car,... even if was in kit form. We tried to reproduce a couple of old magazine articles from that era that sprouted the reintroduction of the name Bolwell back into the country’s automotive making (which turned out to be history) but the ageing of the paper quality and small print, made that impossible. But to quote from a WHEELS magazine article from November 1980 The Ikara is for those who put responsive handling, sparkling performance, hair-line steering, sure braking and the sheer bloody enjoyment of driving, at the top of their list sums it factually. Although only 12 vehicles were sold, there was plenty of interest from various sources to build them under licence. A few of our members have decided recently to either get theirs back onto the road, or rebuild from scratch (as photos 1 and 2 show). So here’s to the Ikara’s rebirth.

12.01.2022 This is something you don't see every day, even for a Bolwell. It's called the Blue Beast.

11.01.2022 Anybody recognise this incarnation? Where the first two photos were taken, and the last one was as well?

11.01.2022 It has Just been announced that the National Easter Meeting to be held this year has been postponed until next year. All those members who were going will receive an email later this evening or tomorrow explaining that they can either receive a full refund or let their payments continue for the new event. The motel has guaranteed their bookings are still confirmed and will take priority over any one else who wasnt going this year but want to go next time. More to come.

10.01.2022 Heres a bast from the past. Where and when was this Easter?

09.01.2022 Here are some photos of the 2003 Easter National Meet at Jindabyne NSW. The motorkhana was held in the Thredbo ski village and the participants had to circumvent the local busses that were parked there whilst the lodges were in shutdown.

09.01.2022 With the postponement of the Easter National Meeting this year at Bunbury, WA (which is happening next Easter), its time to reflect on a previous meeting that occurred some 10 years ago. That meeting was held at Bridgetown, located some 270 kms south of Perth. It is situated in the hills and surrounded by large forest national parks. Since it was some 15 years since their previous meeting the WA members really put on quite wonderful hospitality. And believe as this year isnt going ahead, they will again make up for this lost time. The following pictorial hopefully gives those who havent tasted WA hospitality before, to come along next year. You will notice at least one constant during this, because he likes to be in everything. See if you can spot who this is.

09.01.2022 Oh, nearly forgot, so was this one.

05.01.2022 This is something you dont see every day, even for a Bolwell. Its called the Blue Beast.

05.01.2022 After a hiatus of several years siting in various sheds/garages, this Nagari is now going to get the attention it deserves, whilst its owner cared too much for another vehicle. He commented that hed probably better get it on the road before he dies. Hes also going to put an electric motor in it........................... if only it was true.

03.01.2022 Here are some of the members who attended the same event as the first two photos below along with their Bolwells. Also a cryptic clue is: We got more enjoyment traveling from the end of one motorkhana event and returning to the start of it.
