19.01.2022 At the recent Group 7 Junior AGM, our Club was notified that the Southern Highlands Storm had submitted an application to NSWRL to transfer from the Group 6 competition to the more regional Group 7 competition for the 2021 season and beyond. The Storm is a new club created in late 2019, combining Bowral and Moss Vale Juniors. They have junior rugby league teams in all ages from 6s to 16s, plus girls league tag teams in the 14s and 16s, and play their games out of Community Ov...al (Moss Vale) and Loseby Park (Bowral). The reasons the Storm have requested the move are as follows: * Group 6 has become more of a metro competition with large population bases in South Western Sydney * Group 6 is currently merging many age divisions with the Metropolitan Macarthur competition * The Southern Highlands is geographically separated from the Sydney Basin, and is a regional area * Group 7/ Illawarra is a strong neighbouring regional competition * The South Coast player demographics align more closely with the rural Southern Highlands region * The South Coast is less densely populated than South Western Sydney * No longer required to travel into South Western Sydney * A great area to stay and visit after you have finished playing footy for the day * Rep players train in Wollongong instead of Sydney * Group 7 provides tackle options for both boys and girls * Group 7 provides extensive League Tag options * In competition ages Group 7 combines with Illawarra District Rugby League forming comprehensive 1st and 2nd Divisions across all international ages. Group 7 is now urgently seeking comments from all Clubs as to whether we support request to allow the Storm to enter the Group 7 competition, and we invite you to have your say on how our Club should vote! 13.01.2022 Some great news to come out of the recent Group 7 AGM Meeting for all the little ladies out there. In 2021, there will be an Under 8s girls league tag competition so we’ll be looking to field a team for players aged 6 (with NSWRL clearance to play up), 7 and 8, and better news Talia Atfield will be the coach for this team. There will also be an extended girl’s rugby league competition. The details are yet to be confirmed but it’s likely to run for more than 10 weeks. Again, w...e’ll be looking to field an Under 14s and Under 16s team We’re delighted to be able to provide so many opportunities for girls within our Club and community so help us spread the word. How good is it to be a girl with so many opportunities to get involved with footy.

The AGM is your opportunity to become directly involved in important club decisions. You may also ask questions of the Executive Committee. A copy of the 2020 Annual Report will also be available to all members on the day. To become a financial member with voting rights, a $5.00 membership fee is payable on the day of the AGM. How do Nominations for the Committee work? Any club member can nominate another member for a role on the 2021 Committee however this does not automatically secure them the position. The nominated club member must first accept the nomination, and then the members present at the AGM must decide which of the nominated candidates are best suited for the role. The Presentation Day will be an outdoor ‘Picnic Day’ & will be held at the Ground Bomaderry Sporting Complex this Saturday 31st October starting at 11am. There will be a sausage sizzle on the day for players, and parents are asked to bring a plate of nibbles and sit with your team on the field. Please bring along your own chair or rug for comfort.

Wollongong council have closed all their grounds, and with COVID-19 social distancing restrictions combined with the rain it makes it very hard to ensure people are social distancing.
