23.01.2022 So now it comes out that Essenfon's final offer for Josh Dunkley was pick 7 and a future 2nd rounder. The Bulldogs rejected that and asked for pick 8 and a future first 1st round pick. Dodoro rejected that. A huge opportunity for us just goes up in smoke.... This draft is the most compromised in history as we simply haven't seen any of them play this year. Kids can go from a projected number 1 to eventually being a late 2nd or 3rd round pick and vice versa from a 17 to 18 year old. Should Dodoro taken have taken a proven gun inside midfielder or rolled the dice with our club's future and hope picks 6,7,8 will produce a better result? Keep in mind, with the Dunkley deal, we STILL KEEP Picks 6 AND 7.

12.01.2022 After a few weeks of analysing the top 30 projected draft picks, my ideal top 3 would be: 1. Will Phillips (praying he gets past Gold Coast) 2. Nik Cox 3. Archie Perkins... However if either Logan McDonald or Elijah Hollands were still available at pick 7 we should take McDonald over Cox and Hollands over Perkins. Smokies - Tanner Bruhn or Finlay Macrae. What would be your top 3?

10.01.2022 New article on the website, regarding list management strategy and the upcoming draft!

09.01.2022 With the Trade Period done and dusted, we now go to the National Draft with high hopes that our 3 prized top 10 picks will bring in some elite talent. I think we should go for two mids and a tall forward with those picks, or package the picks up and trade them to North for pick 2 and take Logan Mcdonald. Should we decide to use all three picks, here's my choices at this stage;... - Pick 6: Will Phillips - a pure midfielder, Phillips is a massive ball winner, tough on the inside, influential at stoppages but also has some run and can kick goals. Phillips also has great leadership qualities and is a future captain in waiting. A no brainer at this pick. - Pick 7: Finlay Macrae - the brother of Western Bulldogs star Jackson Macrae, Finlay has elite disposal on both feet, is a ball magnet and can also play forward. Almost a carbon copy of his brother, he also has great poise and is calm under pressure. - Pick 8: As I wrote in my article on our website, we have the luxury of having the option to either simply take the best player available or pick a player that fills a hole in our list - a key forward. I'm going to go with the latter, so my pick here would be Oliver Henry. He's a player that doesn't need much of the ball to have an impact, is very good in the air, has great hands and is a smart footballer. Also very athletic for his size, Henry could also be developed to be a hybrid mid/fwd in the mould of a Dangerfield, Martin, Cripps type role. - Smokey: Archie Perkins at pick 7. So there's the three players I would like to see drafted should we go down that path. I'm still a bit torn as to whether we should trade up to get Logan Mcdonald though Thoughts?
