22.01.2022 Last night the Bonbeach YCW Junior Sports Club held its annual Life Members and Sponsors Night to thank all of those who put in at the club and to welcome back our life members over the generations. Last night Life Membership was awarded to Mick Alford. Mick has been a football committee member for 6 years as well as treasurer for 4 years. Mick has coached cricket for 2 years and is in his 3rd year as Auskick coordinator. As well as this Mick also coordinates both day and n...ight canteens on a Sunday as well as helping out his boys teams in any capacity needed. For such a shy person, Mick loves a microphone and oozes energy when he is speaking and his thank-you speech last night certainly portrayed this energy. Thank you Mick for all you have done and are doing for our club. Also last night we had the pleasure of hearing from former St Kilda coach, North Melbourne premiership player, and former Melbourne Captain Stan Alves. Stan had the audience silent for over an hour going through his life and lessons learned. He had the room in tears and laughter. We all learnt a lesson whether young or old. Thanks to all who attended and helped out on the night including Greg Planner, Jodie Hayes, Vanessa Johnson, Mick Smith, and an extra big thank you to Paula and Sandy Jamieson. Thanks to all. 22.01.2022 The Bonbeach Junior Sports Club held it Annual General Meeting last Wednesday 11th of December 2019. It has been an exceptional year for all clubs with participation up and solid financial results across the board. 21.01.2022 Even though all junior sport has been postponed or called off at the moment, we are still working on the future vision of our club . OUR VISION: we have a vision for the redevelopment of our end of the reserve which includes a two storey pavilion to house our diversifying and growing community, leading us to engage with Cameron Howe who according to News Corp has led several of the region's largest projects. A new facility may include toilet facilities for all genders in ad...dition to an office, bar, canteen and a function room for mixed community use. Complete with a balcony our 1,100 football, netball and cricket members would have an envious view. On the agenda are also oval drainage and lighting improvements, with a larger car park considered essential to accommodating existing and new members. Bonbeach YCW Junior Sports Club will commence discussions with all respective parties. What do you think? Tell us below. 16.01.2022 It is with deep sadness that we advise of the passing of a long term member of our club, Sheila Anderson Whyte who passed away early on Sunday morning. Sheila was an active member of the club who held the position of club Secretary of the football club in 2010. Sheila was often seen on a Sunday night after football or Friday night after Cricket. She was a popular member, always up for chat and personified who a true YCW person is. With her husband Gordon (Gordy) who is a li...fe member and former Sports Club President, Shelia has been involved for many years supporting Scott and more recently Jamie, a popular player with his peers. Our condolences are with Gordy, Scott, Jamie and the extended Whyte family at this time. Rest in Peace Sheila

05.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who chipped in at yesterday's club working bee. There was plenty of cleaning, sorting and reclaiming of storage areas and office space. We social distanced and washed our hands! Thanks to Andrew Faid for managing the afternoon and giving us all plenty to do. ... We have started the process of cataloguing our club memorabilia and we found some great items, including the 1946 annual report! Although it is a little worse for wear we will look at framing this to keep it safe for years to come. We look forward to seeing you all at the club as soon as we possibly can! Go YC!
