21.01.2022 Happy world breastfeeding week! A week devoted to celebrating the naturalness, magic and healing power of our breasts in feeding and nourishing our babies. For me this week is also a reminder of the diversity of breastfeeding. I salute ALL breasts out there- those that had too much milk, those with not enough, those that tried and couldn't and those that chose not to at all. I personally love breastfeeding my daughter. Those moments feel preciously bonding and nurturing and... all the more sweeter knowing I am boosting my daughters little immune and digestive system. Did you know that milk is tailor made? As baby feeds, her saliva is absorbed into her mothers receptors influencing what infection-fighting antibodies are excreted into the milk. Breast milk also contains bacteria that supports the formation of a healthy microbiome. The benefits of breastfeeding for me as mother also feel like an added bonus. Did you know that breastfeeding can reduce the chance of breast and ovarian cancer for feeding mothers? Aaaand when you're breastfeeding you get a big dose of oxytocin (the hormone of love) which means adrenaline is dampened and a sense of peace and bliss can arise. Thank you breasts, nipples, mammary glands, brain and hormones and thank you baby for your patience, focus and commitment. Let the good times flow. Milk bar OPEN!

11.01.2022 Wisdom. Truth. Right.

09.01.2022 Exciting times!! And just a note, babies are not "delivered", they are birthed, with courage, strength and generally a lot of hard work. It really is such an honour to be apart of the birth of baby/mother/family (and of this homebirth program!).x

07.01.2022 Please share this page with any Mumma's out there seeking support in this time of crisis. Online community is such an incredibly rich resource during these strange and challenging times. Isolation doesn't have to be isolating. Big love.xx

05.01.2022 It takes a community to raise a child...and to raise up a mother <3

03.01.2022 This great article outlines why the midwife-mother relationship is so important and for me, highlights the immense privilege I feel in being apart of a midwifery group practice. For the many women out there who do not have access to this level of care, I firmly encourage you to employ a doula who can provide your little, growing family with this vital support. Much love.x

02.01.2022 Hello dear ones. If you are looking for some parenting guidance with a big dollop of self-compassion then look no further. Here is a wonderful talk hosted by the incredibly insightful Janet Lansbury interviewing the eternally wise Susan David. From this sharing I particularly loved the reminder for self-compassion when standing in the (huge) role of parent and also the idea that our strong emotions (and that of our baby's) are a signpost for our heartfelt desires. Big love.x

02.01.2022 From one watery world to another. How beautiful <3
