25.01.2022 Want to talk/mix with Japanese high school students and get paid for it? A group of Japanese high school students from around Tokyo are coming to Bond on the 9th of August and the 17th of August. If you're keen to talk/mix with them for about an hour and a half, and tell them about what Australia/Bond is like AND get PAID for it, click on the form below; https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSfYquLkO4VZHkWKAo/viewform There are two periods, one on Wednesday 9th of August (1:30pm to 3:00pm) and the second one is Thursday 17th of August (10:30am to 12:00pm). Each period you will be compensated $50.

24.01.2022 Welcome back to Semester 172! We've got a wide variety of events coming up for this semester, including hiking events, theme park trips, karaoke nights, "" type events, food events and of course BBQs! So stay tuned to our Facebook page to find out what's happening this sem. Over the holidays the Japanese Society was also involved in organising a trip to Movie World in Coomera! 21.01.2022 Today marks 72 years since the end of the second world war in Japan. On this day, we remember all of those who not only fought for their nation, but those who had also lost their lives in defence of their nation. Let a terrible tragedy such as this never be repeated and let us never take this peace we have experienced for granted.

18.01.2022 Today at 14:46 (Japan Time), Australia time (15:46), we remember the innocent victims of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. 6 years on, it remains to be one of the worst natural disasters to ever occur in Japanese history. May we never forget this terrible tragedy.

10.01.2022 Japan Film Festival is back, and it's free! The Japan Film Festival (Gold Coast) is happening again this year for its second year running. This year we have a number of years including one of the highest grossing anime films ever made in Japan, "Your Name" (). 05.01.2022 It is with great sadness to announce the death of Prince Mikasa, the uncle of the current Emperor and the younger brother of Emperor Showa (Hirohito) and son of Emperor Taisho; Prince Mikasa was the oldest living royal and member of the Imperial family. A cavalry officer in the Imperial Japanese Army and serving during World War 2, Prince Mikasa had a pronounced career after World War 2 and has had a tremendous impact on the country and on the Imperial family as a whole.
