21.01.2022 Imagine having to spend a whole month at school camp. What freedoms would you miss from home? Tell us below in the comments. Residents at Bonegilla lived in unlined, unheated huts. 20.01.2022 Question of the day: Can you list some of the jobs you imagine would have been required for Bonegilla to function back in the day? Depending on the availability of work and housing, arriving residents would stay at Bonegilla anywhere between one week and several years. Many migrants got their first job helping the centre to operate.... With between 2000 and 5000 residents at any one time, Bonegilla was at times bigger than Wodonga and needed workers to operate the many services available to residents. . . . #BonegillaMigrantExperience #BME #PastMigrants

11.01.2022 It’s easy now to take for granted the diversity of food , fashion , traditions, language and ideas in Australia. Imagine weeknight dinners without any European, American, Asian or African cuisine.
