20.01.2022 The importance of an entry within a home The entry (sometimes a space which is overlooked) sets the tone for the rest of the home. Recently in our ‘Californian Bungalow Project’ to add a little statement we opted for white porcelain pendant lights to assist in ‘zoning’ the area which houses the original fireplace. This space was actually the original dining / kitchen but has now become an elegant feature within the existing part of the home and is now the first thing you n...otice when stepping foot inside. Due to heritage guidelines, the fireplace was to be retained however with a new fresh look (a little white paint) we are so happy this beautiful classic element is there to stay. An expansion joint between the existing part of the home and the extension was required so to tie in with the brass detailing throughout the home, we added a brass strip on the herringbone floors to subtly indicate the ‘old and the new’. Swipe right for ‘before’ and ‘mid construction’ pics. Interior Design | Bone Made Builder | Mirage Developments Photographer | The Palm Co

19.01.2022 The Master En-suite at our #CalifornianBungalowProject This space is located within the existing part of the home and due to Heritage guidelines as well as ensuring we aligned with the beautiful ornate detailing; we created more of a classic / sophisticated scheme. The en-suite was originally the shared family bathroom with access from the hallway, however due to the large extension we were able to transform this bathroom into the Master en-suite. We created the entry to the... space within a ‘His and Her’ wardrobe showcasing a ‘secret door’ design to conceal the bathroom whilst also allowing privacy. Featuring a double vanity and double shower, whilst keeping the colour palette very simple with white, charcoal, soft grey and brass fixtures Interior Design + Styling - Bone Made Photography - The Palm Co Joinery - Uneek Interior Solutions Builder - Mirage Developments

18.01.2022 Introducing Suukha studio. A holistic hair and makeup space that ‘embraces the intentional, the beautiful and the nurturing’. Local duo Taylah and Britt recently opened the doors to their holistic hair and make up salon in Balgowlah. The pair required Bone Made to guide them on their design journey after securing the main road premise, previously an Italian Restaurant. They required direction and a little hand holding, however the girls had a very clear vision and brief in mi...nd; they wanted the space to allow their clients to feel at home, at ease and a place they could rejuvenate and reset. We worked with the girls to create a boutique salon showcasing an earthy, warm and light space with an emphasis on textures, neutral tones and natural materials such as timber and stone Photography | The Palm Co

12.01.2022 Suukha Studio // Words from our client.. We reached out to Bone Made after we had taken the leap to start our soul project in the thick of very uncertain pandemic times. We stood overwhelmed in our studio space ready to be gutted and started anew, this was our first renovation ever and we had no idea how to bring everything together, at all.... Fliss & Leah danced us through the flow of the space, suggested color schemes, finishes selection, helped us get clearer on our vision and ultimately allowed us to make the most out of our space. Their expertise and precision put us at ease, their guidance allowed us to work fast with our timeline & their patience fished us out of a few bloopers along the way. There was something really magical about collaborating & creating in the thick of a pandemic, joining forces felt elevated with a shared sense of empowerment, support and the understanding that anything is truly possible. They treated our project like our own & still make us feel lifted daily, spending time in our studio encompasses more then we could have imagined. Photography | The Palm Co

09.01.2022 Dreaming of Sunday mornings by this fire We’ve had a few of you ask about this custom joinery piece we designed at our Californian Bungalow Project and how a fireplace could be built within timber veneer joinery. We opted for a a freestanding fireplace from Escea Fireplaces and exposed the flue to align with a more ‘classic scheme’ rather than a concealed, contemporary finish. ... We were to adhere to some false clearances within the cavity, floor and top standoffs and ensured a suitable hearth finish was installed so that the beautiful Herringbone floors were not affected. The dual track curtain and sheer were treated with a fire retardant finish
09.01.2022 We frequently get asked when is the best time for Bone Made to come on board for our project? Whilst every project is unique, common types we are involved in is either a full renovation / extension or new builds. These types of projects require Development Applications through the local Council which could be submitted by your Architect, Planner or Builder Draftsman. For us, we suggest that once plans are DA approved, that we meet with our client for our 'Initial Design Con...sultation' to start the Interior Design vision and process! This allows us to review complete plans before we delve into our concept, vision and proposal for our client. Following this, we can then make internal tweaks if required in conjunction with our full interior design and documentation service which is broken down into Schematic, Design Development and Documentation phases (allow at least 12-14 weeks). The Interior documentation package is thoroughly detailed allowing for precise builder + trade pricing. To complete any project making the house feel like a home, we offer our full styling service which can run parallel to the documentation or construction works. We feel this is the most seamless approach to achieve the ‘concept to completion’ home dream for our clients. If you're planning on a renovation or home project to commence early next year, now would be the time to get in touch with us! We'd love to hear from you! 06.01.2022 We’ve had a few new followers of late so thought we would re-introduce ourselves! We go by Fliss (blonde) Leah (brunette), we are sisters in law and created Bone Made about 2.5 years ago after fulfilling our own unique interior design journeys. We are chalk and cheese in every possible way, but both share the same design passion, vision and afternoon craving for peppermint tea and chocolate. We’re frequently asked whether our services are Australia wide and whether we take ...on interstate clients. Good news, they very much are! We currently have 3 interstate projects; one in the Byron Bay Hinterland, one in Noosa and one in the Adelaide Hills. Our services allow us to seamlessly work with you by conducting our meetings over zoom, frequent corresponding via phone and email, as well as Bone Made researching your specific area on what suppliers and trades we can work with to achieve your overall project vision. If you’re in the initial stages of planning a project whether it be residential, hospitality or commercial, please get in touch! We’d love to hear from you. 01.01.2022 The ‘Mud Room’ in our Californian Bungalow Project. These spaces are typically a homes secondary entrance and a space to remove shoes, hang coats and bags, store umbrellas etc. As this was to be utilised by a young family with 4 kids, we designed a custom bench seat with a practical ‘leather look’ vinyl fabric (easy for wiping down) as well as included additional over head storage and shelving for concealing miscellaneous items. We opted for a dark and forgiving floor tile to ensure little foot prints weren’t so obvious too!
