04.01.2022 Was sitting here thinking about all the recent reports of starving skinny horses .. with the its the drought excuse ... 3 yrs of drought here ! After an amazing 2016 .. these 2017 drop foals now 2yr olds and along with all the other horses they all stayed in good condition. Some lived on straw and pellets for a few months .. with the youngsters as i always do made sure they always had feed 24/7. Dont know what this year is going to bring.. fingers crossed things improve. Point being if you cant feed them, sell them or dispose of them humanely .. dont leave them to starve , when their organs start to fail and they suffer and die anyway ! Or they get so poor that it takes 5 times as much feed to get them back in healthy condition if at all !
