25.01.2022 Walking along one of our local beaches today and my 9 yr old daughter discovered this poor turtle which was entangled in fishing line. So sad she collected plastic cups, cans, bottles, bags, bottle caps, a leg rope, hair ties and more. PLEASE take your rubbish with you.

20.01.2022 Did you know - in Australia, it costs more to send in recycled/compostable/sustainable packaging then it does to ship in plastic? Australia Post has flat rate s...hipping parcels, which for small business owners, are often the cheapest way to send their parcels. Even a product in a cardboard box packaged entirely in compostable materials - is often cheaper when put into a plastic satchel. It can't be any satchel however, it has to be Australia post's plastic flat rate satchels. This presents business owners with a difficult choice - choosing sustainable packaging products or choosing affordable postage. Often for small business owners, paying 2-3x the price for postage is simply not possible. So they opt for plastic. With amazing innovations to postal packaging like @betterpackagingco's compostable mailers - there is no reason we need to still be shipping in single use plastic and contributing to unnecessary landfill/waste. Ridiculously, sending a parcel in Australia post's flat rate plastic mailer is often significantly cheaper than shipping in an almost identical compostable one. You can't even turn an Australia Post satchel inside out and reuse it without paying a premium. Rather than simply complaining, I want to try and change this. So what am I suggesting? A small change by Australia Post which will have hugely positive environmental implications and allow small business owners to ship sustainably in recycled/compostable satchels without having to pay significantly higher costs. Australia Post would simply need to change its policy on flat rate satchels to include BYO satchels. This would allow customers to choose their own satchels like eco compostable ones, without having to pay significantly more to do so. This tiny policy change would have HUGE environmental implications and allow change on a grassroots level. So how can we make this happen? I have made a petition! The link is: http://chng.it/MmQ9dH4Spy (also in my Insta bio if you want to click through) please sign it and share it far and wide - Together we can totally do this and reduce the huge amount of single use plastic shipping waste produced Australia wide See more

18.01.2022 If your baby’s diaper isn’t cloth, it’s TRASH - literally. You are spending thousands of dollars on trash. I remember when I was pregnant and initially told my ...friends I was doing cloth diapers and they all acted like I was crazy Now I’m so grateful that we spent around $200 on a secondhand batch of cloth diapers, created zero waste in the process, and have saved SO much money. Switch to cloth diapers and you won’t regret it! So much better for your wallet & the planet If you have any questions on how to start join Natural Minded Mamas and we’ll be happy to help! Also did I mention cloth diapers are 100x cuter and come in so many different adorable prints?!
