23.01.2022 Our fellow fire fighters from King Creek had some equipment stolen off their smallest truck at an incident this past week. If you know anyone who has suddenly acquired some weird looking hoses or a small portable pump, please let our friends at King Creek Rural Fire Brigade or the police know.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to our two newest recruits Matthias and Garry on the completion of the RFS Bush Fire Fighter qualification. After a lot of hard work and training these two can now respond to incidents

20.01.2022 Firecall Today, crews from Bonny Hills, NSW RFS - Camden Haven Brigade and Fire and Rescue NSW Station 358 Laurieton responded to a call to a grass fire at Henry Kendall Reserve, in the bush opposite the boat ramp. Crews arrived to find a small patch of grass alight, on the bank of the Queens Lake. Fire and rescue were retasked, but crews from Bonny Hills and Camden Haven worked together to cart a portable pump and the necessary hoses down to the waters edge, to extinguish the fire, given we weren’t able to access the track. Thank you to whomever it was that called it in, whilst it was only small, in the right conditions, it could of burnt a substantial amount of land, with the potential to impact on houses and businesses. And a reminder that fire permits are now required.

20.01.2022 Firecall - Sunday 8:40pm Last night crews responded to reports of a fire, just off the highway at Kew. On arrival, crews found a small area of land, in a swampy area, that was a light from last nights storm. ... Crews from Bonny Hills and John’s River monitored the fire for some time before deeming it safe to leave due to the surrounding wet lands. Crews will continue to monitor the fire over the coming days. Last nights call is a good reminder that even though we have had a decent amount of rainfall in the area, fires are still possible.

19.01.2022 Fire call Tonight at 18:55 Bonny Hills and NSW RFS - Lake Cathie Brigade were responded to a fire call at Skyline Place, Bonny Hills. Bush alight was found along the walking track of Grants Head. Thank you to all crews who responded and extinguished this fire quickly. If you see an unattended fire please call 000. provided by Stuart & Steven (Bonny Hills brigade members)

19.01.2022 A big thank you to Laurieton men's shed for making a boot cleaner for us so we don't tromp the fire ground into the station on our boots

17.01.2022 A heat wave is expected over the next week which will increase the fire risks for the district. Ensure you’re family knows your bush Fire plan, minimise the risk to your property by clearing around it and keep up to date with any fires around you via the fire near me app. Remember, if you see an unattended fire, report it immediately.

17.01.2022 A big thank you to the Port Macquarie Surfing Museum for their generous donation. It’s donations like these that allows us to purchase additional equipment for our trucks. We are always so humbled by the generosity of our local community.

15.01.2022 A big thank you to Max from Bonny Hills Brigade and Ross from NSW RFS - Lake Cathie Brigade on demonstrating and educating fellow brigade members on how to change a truck tyre and highlighting safety measures. Both Max and Ross work in the truck industry and have a lot of knowledge to pass on. This training is vital for the upcoming fire season as some of our members are new to truck driving and there’s always no harm in reskilling our experienced drivers. Thank you to Tony from Lake Cathie Brigade for organising this training for both Brigades.

12.01.2022 Please note all fire permits will be suspended from midnight tonight

09.01.2022 You don’t have to live right near the bush to be at risk. Even if your home is a few streets back, you may be at risk. Can you guess the main reason homes are lost to bush fires? #getreadyweekend

08.01.2022 If there is a fire in the Mid Coast you will find its alert level on the NSW RFS website, on the radio and in the ‘Fires Near Me’ app. What will be your sign for putting your fire plan into action? #getreadyweekend

06.01.2022 Environmental Vandalism in Bonny Hiils again this time on the fire trail from Honeysuckle around to Grants Head. Including a fire in the Asset Protection Zone on Saturday night and a bon fire which was dismantled on Sunday. Also illegal camp fires in Bartletts Beach reserve, people are reminded that camp fires can not be lite in fire season especially as it is very dry and a camp fire could spread easily. Police are investigating so if you see or hear anything suspicious please call and report.

05.01.2022 Fire call Yesterday Bonnys Hills was responded to Boyds Creek Road along with Camden Haven Rural Fire Brigade to a land clearing which contained multiple smouldering logs.
