24.01.2022 RESCUE BUNNIE FOR ADOPTION This is Marley she has been rescued from Queensland where she was being kept illegally and was booked in to be euthanised. She is now safe in NSW and looking for a forever home. Marley is an adult female rabbit, she is quite a big bunnie so needs a nice big enclosure.... Marley loves hay, grass and veggies to eat she is very friendly and loves pats and treats. Marley does zoomies when she gets a chance to run round the house, she has a great personality once she settles in and will make the perfect pet for someone. There is no adoption fee for taking Marley her new owners will just need to pay for her desexing. Phone the clinic on 6584 8808 to apply.

21.01.2022 Although COVID gave us all a free pass on 2020’s resolutions, there are some simple new year resolutions you can make for 2021 that are good for you and your pet. Consider walking your pet in new areas, such as exploring a different part of your neighbourhood or visiting the beach. Try brushing your pet’s teeth daily, as teeth brushing is an effective way of reducing bad breath. If you don’t already, make a habit of playing or walking your pet daily.

17.01.2022 Our clinic will be closed from 5pm Christmas Eve through to 8.30am Tuesday 29th, and then closed on New Years Day. After hours emergencies will be shared between our clinic and Camvet in Laurieton (who are now located in the industrial area), so please ring our normal clinic number 6584 8808 to access this information. Please let us know asap if you need any medications for your pet, so they are not left without. Don't forget to protect them from all those revolting parasites that are local to this area (fleas, ticks, worms, heartworm). AND DON'T LET THEM ANYWHERE NEAR THE NAUGHTY CHRISTMAS FOOD.

12.01.2022 A fear of fireworks is a relatively common problem in pets. They will often show a fear or panic response when the noise starts and can often be difficult to settle until the noise has stopped. If your pet’s fear is severe, we strongly recommend you see one of our vets for a behaviour consultation beforehand. If your pet is only mildly stressed by the noise, keep them inside, turn on the TV, provide them with a safe space (like a crate) and offer them plenty of pats and comfort.

09.01.2022 Monitoring of anaesthesia is critical to any successful surgery. It all starts with our experienced and well-trained veterinary nursing staff, who monitor your pet under anaesthesia. Our nurses monitor anaesthesia with equipment used in human hospitals as well as frequent, manual checks of the patient’s heart rate, temperature, and depth of anaesthesia. The vet nurses support our veterinarians and together they ensure your pet is monitored whilst undergoing their surgical or dental procedure.

05.01.2022 Did you know that all flea and tick products sold in Australia must be registered with the AVPMA, the regulatory authority that ensures their safety and effectiveness? While all the products we sell in-clinic are registered and very safe, you should never give products intended for dogs to cats, and products containing ivermectin should not be given to collie breeds. Pop into the clinic for more information and we can help you find the best product for your pet.

04.01.2022 As pets age, their health needs increase. Early detection of disease is the best way to ensure your pet lives a long and happy life. We recommend that senior pets have a health check every six months, as annual checks can be too long apart to pick up disease early. If your senior pet already has a condition, they may need to visit more often. Together, we can ensure your pet lives their best possible life.

01.01.2022 OWNER HAS BEEN FOUND. Thanks folks. Rosie the dog has been handed into the clinic tonight, found as a stray in North Haven. The chip is working, but the owners are from out of town, and I am having trouble getting in contact with them. If anyone knows the owner, please get them to contact us via this page. Thanks folks.

01.01.2022 It has been a long and strange year. As many clinics in our local area are currently affected by the vet shortage, I am hoping that we will, collectively, still be able to provide the same standard of care that we currently do.
