24.01.2022 Did you know that echidnas have toothless jaws? Yep, that’s right! Instead of teeth, they have a long slender beak, armed with a 15cm long sticky tongue that they use to crush their food up against hard pads on the roof of their mouth! Echidnas love to feed on invertebrates including ants, worms and insect larvae and can eat up to around 40,000 per day pretty cool, huh!! ... #bonorongwildlifesanctuary #bonorong #monotreme #randallthethreeleggedechidna #echidna

23.01.2022 Please welcome Jester into the Bonorong family! Jester is a Common bronzewing who was found alone as a young chick. She was hand-raised by a registered Wildlife Carer but after an in-depth behavioural assessment, it was found that Jester would not survive well in the wild so she so will remain here at the Sanctuary as a long term resident.... Aren't her wings beautiful? #bonorongwildlifesanctuary #bonorong #wildliferescue #bronzewing
