Sam Started bon...sai at young age and later studied under Master Kunio Kobayashi. Sam brings a wealth of experience to share with Bonsai Horizons, as he has demonstrated internationally and undertakes regular training overseas to further his knowledge. Sams constant exposure to large volume, high quality, bonsai maintenance of an international standard allows him to work on material with confidence and at a fast pace. His passion and focus lies in teaching bonsai enthusiasts fine tuning and refinement techniques. Although Sam is adaptable to working on a variety of species from his work at the NBPCA, he enjoys working mostly on Japanese Black and Red Pines, Cedars, Hawthorn and Elms

With covid being such a problem I thought I would post my latest project tree in hopes to give everyone a much needed enthusiastic boost for the bonsai drive. ... Remember to be safe and spread the love of bonsai I look forward to returning in the future. I miss you guys This is a plum blossom before and after. James Todd: James became interested in bonsai when he saw an exhibition in Japan in 2007 but only started lessons and joined the Bonsai Society of Queensland 2014. James has strong interest in companion plants and is ... promoting their part in our club activities and exhibition. James spoken about and done workshops on companion plants at club meetings. He has a Cert 4 in horticulture and has worked in horticulture for 20 years and is currently working at Beaudesert Mitre 10 in the garden centre. See more

01.01.2022 Queensland bonsai society has a meeting day on Saturday 18 ,this month is a workshop day starting a 10 with a bbq lunch also there is a beginners group starting at 10 going to 12 with lucky draws with pots and trees given to the beginners, we will cover what to look for when selecting a bonsai , and building a bonsai from a stump,bring your trees and get some help if you need it or just work on them. All welcome at Mt Gravatt Showgrounds
