21.01.2022 For Melbourne's oldest bonsai garden autumn is a time of poetic beauty. We wish we could share it with visitors but in these times, health and wellbeing are of primary concern. With horticulture care, creativity and a pinch of alchemy we continue our passion behind closed doors. Currently we're re-organising our layout to better enable social distancing when the garden re-opens. Remember, winter is just a prelude to spring. We look forward to seeing you then. Be safe.

16.01.2022 Cahl (Salamander Jones) was a friend, and inspiration to us at Bonsai Farm. Everything I love in a man, compassionate, rebellious, charming, loving and reliable.... He was a ratbag, raconteur, promoter, musician, acivist, stirrer, chef, bonsai grower and a loving partner to Elaine. After the biggest battle of his life he "ditched his body" on Tuesday night. Cahl was expert in repairing beautiful broken things. Such a shame they couldnt repair him. We love you Cahl and we will miss you. See more

15.01.2022 Visited with Frank and Lyn today at Yatte Yattah, photos show the fire damage of their Nursery and most of his Bonsai are gone, some have been taken away to see... if they could be saved. The first picture shows some benches the rest of the benches are totally gone, no posts burnt right to the ground. Second picture is the plant stock they had, no sign of the plastic pots all gone. 3rd picture shows all the damage of his Bonsai area. See more

12.01.2022 I cant help but keep one eye open for exquisite Chinese teapot factory #1 zisha bonsai pots when visiting swap meets or sunday markets. Sadly its been 5 years... since I spotted any. Today though, I found this Shigarachi pot. Melbourne Department store, Buckley and Nunn imported Japanese bonsai trees in these pots between WW1 and WW2. The mystery of the original tree enriches the pots. Buckleys hope of finding zisha pots though See more
