25.01.2022 Hi Bonsai Families, Unfortunately another minor setback for our return to normal. I had received confirmation to return to classes in the hall at the school, but the school called today saying the Governor General has advised them not to hire the hall until further notice. ... So this means I will not be able to provide students with after school karate for until I have been given the go ahead from the school (hoping this will be around June 12th) also I can not confirm any classes in hall as yet. Good News: we are able to start the outdoor lessons. But: we can only have groups of 10 people including the instructor (we will have enough instructors to split into a few groups) , parents will need to be removed from the class to allow for the numbers. you can sit somewhere at a distance and watch (but not in groups) Please observe good social distancing practices. We will continue with our Zoom lessons on Tuesday and Thursday with normal times for now. Once I hear from the school about approval for stage 2 easing of restrictions I will let you know. I apologize about the mix up with this.

25.01.2022 Update: Unfortunately the current advise from the schools is that they will still not let us use the Hall. I am looking at possible alternatives. But, I am hoping it changes quickly. ... Regards Sensei Nick

17.01.2022 Grading's are a privilege, not a right. If your training goals are to get fit, learn self defence, enjoy time exercising with friends, that's great! they are my goals too. If your Goal is to strive forward pushing your mind and body to the highest level, moving through the ranks to a Black belt level. There needs to be a higher level of commitment. ... There is a big difference between training 10 classes over 10 weeks, to training 10 classes over 2 weeks. Here at Bonsai Karate we don't mind if you are not fussed about getting a Black Belt, But if you do, we will hold you to a higher standard. The push to the Black belt will ask more of your time and commitment level the closer you get. Sometimes you may need to push aside other things you enjoy and make your training a priority. From now on, you will not be invited to grade without a consistent pattern to your training that follows all of the requirements for your level.
