20.01.2022 BOOFF . Friends....ten week's ago my body and soul went into shock, with my heart breaking.... due to the fact that the COVID19 pandemic had had a catastrophic ...impact on our performing arts community, our family - shattering artists real-world ability to put food on the table and physically deliver current 2020 programming; causing unprecedented cancellations, rescheduling and re-configuring. . With the generosity of over 30 artists from Australia, New Zealand and Las Vegas - we were able to share a little joy and human connection with the world - laughing together over 8 Sunday afternoon teas. I wanted to say a heart felt THANK YOU to all who joined us - you are the reason why their is goodness in the world . Until we see each other again live on stage, sharing a story or seven, I would like to leave you with one final flash of a memory: . "Unfortunately, celebrations came too early, as a flock of disgruntled geese were alerted to our presence and stormed our position - - apparently chicken was like blood to a vampire - and I was savaged.suffice to say - I have never been fishing since.and geese are rapacious punks and not to be trusted...and should always be kept at an arm's distance...preferably 1.5 metres!" . Broadway is closed until 2021, Cirque is filing for bankruptcy, Feld laid off 90% of its workforce permanently, cr...uise ship performers are out of work, theme park performers have no idea when they will be recalled, many circuses have closed and musicians concerts and gigs are cancelled. Performing arts organizations of all kinds..choirs, theaters, orchestras, dance companies, dance studios are all trying to figure out on a daily basis how to keep going and employ anyone they can in the field. If you know anyone in the arts industry reach out to them and tell them they matter. Give them a virtual hug and make sure they are taken care of. Donate to arts organizations and keep arts alive.
