23.01.2022 Mum (Marlene / Greypower) and I have one more market in Brisbane to work in before we head off on a Thelma and Louise + misty (mums best friend dog) road trip... to Mt. Gambier for a holiday to catch up with family and friends. During this time I will toddle off myself and work in my Book Shack stall at the Port Fairy Folk Festival .....looking forward to the trip...just not Mistys constant panting in van (podcasts/audio books with earphones) !! 22.01.2022 All set up in my Book Shack stall at the Port Fairy Folk Festival...gates opened 5.30pm - 4 day festival. Crowds building. Have big 6m x 6m marquee.....stall in between stage 1 and 2....so working whilst listening to live music, in a festival environment...love my life

We met as secondhand bookstore owners, supported each other over the years with customer referrals and even though my Book Shack shopfront is closed...Dales is still trading and she has an amazing selection of quality books at affordable prices...she followed her dream as well.

21.01.2022 Book Shack stall.will be at the Redcliffe Jetty Markets Sunday 26 January 8am - 2pm. (No books on offer). Lovely markets, along Redcliffe Esplanade...great selection market, food, fresh produce stalls, live music and many of Redcliffe shops open.

19.01.2022 I am so blessed.....The universe has answered me....when I closed my Book Shack shopfront last August I lost a little piece of me. Well, I found it again in my new job ! I am very proud to be Shop Supervisor for the brand New YMCA Op Shop opening at Mango Hill, North Brisbane mid July in the incredible new YMCA building at 13-32 Halpine Drive, Mango Hill. The YMCA Op Shops are designed to not only help the community but also support the YMCA Schools Breakfast program to ...ensure school children dont start the day hungry. There is a gymnastics program and a vocational school at the new YMCA Mango Hill complex, plus the magical Op shop on street level. I will be ably supported by fabulous Volunteers. I have a great boss Kyla, an Op Shop Genie...who is currently training me at the YMCA Op shop Mt Gravatt which has a veritable smorgasbord of fabulous stuff. I am in heaven.....life is so good. ***I will still have my Book Shack Online shop and hope to be at the odd Music / Fairtrade Festival with my Book Shack Fairtrade/Recycled stall. 10.01.2022 Time is flying....I am having a wonderful time at Woodford folk festival working in my Book Shack stall, chatting to so many interesting and lovely people, grea...t sales, catching up with friends. Thanks to my friend Sandy I went and enjoyed "Baby et Lulu" at the Parlour, two fabulously talented Aussies singing French songs - simply wonderful...devoured a bowl of tempura mushrooms for dinner and now back in my stall till 10.30pm. 03.01.2022 Thank you Universe.....Thank you Woodford Folk Festival...I had an absolutely fabulous time working in my Book Shack Stall. I had the best sales ever in my 8 ye...ars as a stallholder ...Amazing!!! Much needed after some tough years in my shop, flicking off bills, etc allowing me a fresh start for 2020. A huge heartfelt thank you to my good friend Sandy Hadley who was awesome selling in the stall, so much fun to be around and gave me opportunity to go out and soak up this festival. Sandy, also being a Fairtrade stallholder has similar ethics. I feel recharged.....Sandy ended Woodford Folk Festival singing in the choir in the closing ceremony and is buzzing......looking forward to 2020.. See more
