24.01.2022 Welcome to 2021 everyone! We hope you've been enjoying the festive season and now looking forward to a much brighter year than 2020! Just a reminder that the bar opens up this Thursday, January 7th from 4pm and as of next Thursday, January 14th we will be starting up our regular Thursday night snack menu.... Saturday Pennant starts up on January 16th so plenty of time to organize your club games as we have fallen behind the deadline of having games completed by the Christmas break last year. We look forward to seeing you at the club sometime soon!

24.01.2022 Good luck today to our Division 3 team competing against Traralgon (4) at Traralgon! We have quite a few of our senior and more experienced players out for this week but are fortunate enough to have many up and coming youngsters to fill their shoes in what should be a truly entertaining day of bowls!

23.01.2022 Good luck today to Division 3 playing at home against Yinnar and Division 6 playing away against Churchill! Today should be a cracker of a competition against Yinnar so get on down to the club at 1pm and enjoy a nice cold beverage whilst watching some local legends play their last home game for the season.

21.01.2022 Great results from Saturday's Pennant competition with convincing wins against Warragul and Churchill! Division 6 have merged with Yinnar for this season as both clubs had concerns with being able to fulfil a side due to the COVID situation. This has resulted in a great win for Boolarra/Yinnar taking out 10 points for the day with 53 shots to Churchill's 34 shots. Division 3 had a cracker of a day with special mentions going to Bob Allen's team with an outstanding win resulti...ng in 45 shots to 6 and Russ Peters' team winning with another outstanding result of 34 to 8 shots! Boolarra's final tally for the day resulting in a very tidy 113 shots to Warragul 56 shots and taking the 16 points. Results and ladder as follows:

19.01.2022 A great effort by our trio who represented Boolarra in the West Gippsland Bowls Division Novice Competition on Saturday! The competition was of a very high standard with bowlers representing other clubs from Division 1 and 2 levels. Joelene put in an amazing effort but unfortunately went down by the narrowest of margins with 20 to 21 shots in both games.... Travis won his first game and went down by 3 shots in his second game with Joel going down by only a few shots in both games. We look forward to being entertained with some more great bowling from these guys when our club games are played over the coming weeks!

19.01.2022 Don't forget our Over and Under 60's event this Saturday which should be a great day! Details as follows: ROLL UP ROLL UP!... It's time for the Over and Under 60's Cup!!! The legendary Colby is hosting his annual event this Saturday, March 7th at 11.45am. Colby has another name for the event which he calls the Dun???????Cup - but you'll have to ask him what it means! No need to book so just arrive around 11.45am to register and we’ll start off playing 18 ends around 12.45 after the teams have been picked and we've had a snag in bread. We'll finish off with a barbie and some salads around 2.30 - 3.00pm once everyone has completed their 18 ends. Cost is $10.00 for the day and we're hoping the weather will be kind to us this time! It doesn't matter if you're a first time bowler - everyone is welcome for this event and the day is a lot of fun! We look forward to seeing you at the best little Bowls Club in Gippsland!

18.01.2022 Just a reminder that there will be no meals this Thursday as we'll be busy organising Twilight Bowls for Friday - however we are offering snack food. We're hoping the weather will be kind to us on Friday for our Valentine's Day event and look forward to seeing you all there!

18.01.2022 Good luck to our Club Champions Stan Williams and Pam Allen representing Boolarra in the "Champion of Champions" event at Warragul today!

17.01.2022 The final round of Pennant was played on Saturday in what was a very scrappy season of Bowls due to the wet weather wiping out a few away games as well as some home games which became frustrating for our bowlers. We are looking forward to a promising season commencing later in the year with a few new bowlers on board showing some serious talent along with our more experienced bowlers who have showed some brilliant form later in the season. We are still open from 4pm on Tuesda...ys and Thursdays and there are plenty of club games to be played as well. Don't forget there will be no Parmas this Thursday as we'll be busy organising Twilight Bowls on Friday for Valentine's Day - we hope to see you all there! See more

16.01.2022 BOWLS IS BACK TODAY FROM 4PM!!! Sorry for the late notice as we have been waiting for an update on the latest guidelines regarding the amount of bowlers that are permitted on the green amongst other finer details. There are no limits to how many can play on the green as long as you maintain your social distancing of the 1.5m rule - at this stage you must wear a face mask on the green until we hear otherwise.... Club competitions can resume and will be discussed at the board meeting on September 22nd. We are permitted to have 20 patrons in the club rooms with 2 groups of ten well partitioned - table service will apply to everyone. The same applies to the outdoor area with a total of no more than 50 patrons on the premises. We will not allow entry into the club unless you are wearing a face mask however your mask can obviously be removed when eating or drinking. Meals or snacks will be available once daylight savings commences and will be discussed in more detail by the board over the next few weeks. Hopefully the rain will hold off later on today for our keen bowlers who are looking forward to finally having a roll on the fabulous green! We also have our resident Barbie Boss Dorry throwing a few snags on the barbie later on as well so we look forward to seeing you from 4pm onwards!

12.01.2022 MAJOR UPSET AT THE CUP YESTERDAY!!! Who would've thought that a bunch of under 60s youngsters including quite a few first year bowlers would knock off the well seasoned Over 60s in our annual Cup yesterday! With many years of bowls and shifty tactics under their belt the Over 60s went into the event feeling quite confident as usual - but it didn't take long for the Under 60s to rattle the oldies with some exceptional bowling and apply the pressure from the get go.... With the look of fear setting in on Colby's face after the first few ends it didn't take long for the oldies to realise that for the first time since the inception of the Cup that they were at risk of losing to the formidable youngsters! It was a thoroughly entertaining display of bowling yesterday with the fabulous Sue Richards winning the spider challenge to rub even more salt into the wounds of the Over 60s! And last but not least make sure to watch the attached video of a legendary bloke who never ceases to entertain us - Keith Holmes' late arrival of the photo shoot for the Under 60s! Most importantly he even managed to save his beer! A big thank you to our members and visitors that made the day a truly special one to remember!

12.01.2022 Don't forget Twilight Bowls is on Valentine's Day, Feb 14th! See attached flyer for more informationDon't forget Twilight Bowls is on Valentine's Day, Feb 14th! See attached flyer for more information

10.01.2022 Wow what an amazing turnout of ducks we had last night for Twilight Bowls! However they weren't keen on the bangers and burgers so we're having a barbie for our last meal of the season this coming Thursday night. From 6pm we'll be firing up the barbie so come on down for a $10 feed which includes some scrumptious salads as well - we look forward to seeing you on Thursday!

10.01.2022 A great effort by Stan Williams and Pam Allen competing in the "Champion of Champions" event at Warragul on Saturday! Stan played some great bowls and was in a very tight competition, however his opponent managed to come up with the goods on the very last end to take out a narrow win. Pam also played some great bowls but faced a tough opponent on the day who could do no wrong ultimately resulting in a win.... Thank you Stan and Pam for your efforts in representing the Boolarra Bowls Club!

09.01.2022 ROLL UP ROLL UP! It's time for the Over and Under 60's Cup!!! The legendary Colby is hosting his annual event next Saturday, March 7th at 11.45am.... 08.01.2022 Just a reminder that our bar is now open every Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm onwards and we hope to see some pleasant evenings now that daylight savings is here. We are now taking social memberships for $40.00 which gives members access to our fortnightly member draw, discounted drinks and member's meals - however due to the current COVID restrictions we will not be having our Parmas every Thursday but we do have a basic snack menu in place with some tasty little treats to go... with a nice cool beverage or two. Our snacks kick off this Thursday and apparently there is a home made bacon flavoured gravy to go with your chips and word on the street is that it goes down a treat! We look forward to seeing you at the club sometime soon!

07.01.2022 OPEN ON SATURDAY! We will be opening up between 12pm - 6pm tomorrow to allow players to get on to the green and have a good practice in preparation for our up and coming club games. The bar will be open and we welcome any non members to come and have a practice and check out the club as well.... Don't forget to wear your face mask for entry into the club and maintain your social distancing - at this stage face masks are required whilst playing on the green until we hear otherwise. We have also resumed our usual Tuesday and Thursday trading hours from 4pm onwards and look forward to seeing you at the club.

07.01.2022 Best of luck tomorrow to Joelene, Travis and Joel who will be heading off to Traralgon to participate in the West Gippsland Bowls Division Novice Singles! We couldn’t ask for a better trio to represent our club and are confident they will do us proud! It should be a tremendous day of bowls and spectators are most welcome at the Traralgon venue tomorrow!

07.01.2022 JOIN US ON CUP DAY FROM 12PM - 6PM! The weather for Cup Day this coming Tuesday is looking sensational therefore our "Grand Poobah" Colby has decided to host a day of fun filled activities including the usual Cup Sweeps, some Bowls Challenges out on our fabulous green amongst other action packed activities to enjoy! We will also hold our first Member's Draw for the season and will have food available from our Snack Menu throughout the day as well.... Visitors are most welcome and we look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday.

06.01.2022 A great effort by Division 3 who managed to claw their way back towards the end of competition against Traralgon (3) on Saturday but in the end falling short by 8 shots unfortunately. The secretary apologizes for not sending his usual Saturday night results as there seems to be a glitch with our emails at the moment. Results and ladder as follows:

06.01.2022 ***REMINDER FOR AGM THIS COMING TUESDAY*** (Maximum 20 attendees) As the restrictions have been eased by the government, we can now have that long awaited AGM to formalise the Board positions and other club roles and to discuss the relevant changes that will apply during this interesting time!... There are three members who have put their hands up for the main positions of President, Secretary and Treasurer for season 2020-21. Thank you. Now we just need this to be formalised and also fill the other supporting roles. Bob and I have discussed what we see as the best date and have decided on TUESDAY 23RD JUNE 6.30PM AT THE CLUBROOMS (The Board will then have their ordinary meeting). Please adhere to the social distancing rules and hand sanitising procedures before, during and after the meeting. See you there Bob & Roz.

05.01.2022 ***IMPORTANT NOTICE*** The Bowls Club is officially closed as of midday today under the directives of the State and Federal Governments. Our AGM and Presentation Night scheduled for mid May have been postponed and all club games still not completed will be postponed and hopefully played before the new season recommences.... Our Bowls Club is unique in the fact that because we are such a small club we have always looked out for one another and particularly our more elderly members who may be disadvantaged due to medical issues, unable to drive etc. If you cannot get the essentials like your bread and milk, prescriptions etc, (we won't mention bog roll!) please message us through Facebook and we can organise for someone to pick up what you need. For any of our members that may be struggling with the current situation please reach out to another member that you feel comfortable in talking to or even sending a private message through Facebook - we're all in this together!. Please make sure to pass this message on to other members that do not have Facebook and they can contact Jackie on 0413 972 551 if they are needing essential items picked up or they require any other information. Stay safe everyone and we hope to see you soon.

05.01.2022 Well as they say better late than never! The first match of the Pennant season is finally here and our Division 3 team will be playing at home today against Warragul and Division 6 will be heading up to Churchill to battle it out. Best of luck to both of our teams today!

05.01.2022 A big congratulations to our Vice President Terry Parker and our Secretary Roz Carstairs who both received the Australia Day Community Award for their contribution to the Boolarra Bowls Club! Terry is such an asset to our club and is always there when those big jobs need to get done around the grounds etc, Terry's Bowls knowledge is second to none and he has played an important part in putting our club on the map with organising monthly events through the Pennant season and ...other important events at the club - you're a top bloke Terry Parker! Roz has done an amazing job as Secretary and has worked tirelessly in getting our club organised over the last few years and is always on hand to help out with anything else that needs to get done around the club as well - you're a fabulous lady Roz Carstairs! It is truly an honour to have you both a part of our club!

02.01.2022 Well done to Division 3 on Saturday who had a terrific win against Yinnar by 5 shots!
