18.01.2022 Have you ever explored exercise physiology? Do you know what it entails? John Griffiths, or 'Griffo' as he likes to be called, was always a fit and active... man who loved soccer and golf. During an operation to remove a brain tumour, he suffered a stroke and lost most of his sight. At 65-years-old, the Mandurah local is now a regular at VisAbility's Exercise Clinic. Kane Perris, VisAbility Therapy Assistant has designed a personalised program for him to improve his muscle mass for better movement and function and John is reaping great results. I want to be able to be able to lift my legs and run again. Exercise physiology is making my upper back stronger and improving my biceps and certainly makes me feel good, explains John. Australian Multicultural Ambassador Program Mental Health Foundation Australia is aiming to engage multicultural and Indigenous communities to promote positive mental health and wellbeing via a network of dedicated volunteers throughout Australia. The role of the Multicultural Ambassadors is to connect the Mental Health Foundation Australia Board and staff with CALD communities and promote and create more awareness regarding the foundation’s activities. The program is aimed to provide community leaders with an official platform to become involved in the introduction and coordination of mental health related programs within their communities.
