24.01.2022 The other half of the partnership that runs Boomerang Equestrian Centre is my wonderful partner Paul. Without his support opening up the centre would have not been possible. Here he is having a play with Alby who is recovering well from his abscess and will hopefully be ready to start his lessons again next week

23.01.2022 When you pay for a lesson or training, you aren’t buying an hour of my time. You’re paying for thousands of hours of sweat, struggle, success and tears. You’re ...buying injuries, mistakes, and revelations. You’re buying nights awake thinking about a horse or student I need to help more. You’re buying hours of hauling hay, mucking stalls and grooming, of carefully checking your horse over like It was my own. You’re paying for my further education, because i still take lessons as frequently as possible. You’re paying for my care, concern, over dinner conversation, and you inevitably become a central part of my life. You can’t put a price on education, or personal development, or the bliss of finally being with a horse. Thank you for sharing with me, teaching me, and letting me teach you, while I put food on my table and hay in my barn with the most fulfilling job ever. Beautifully written by the eloquent Amy Skinner Picture below. Alfred with Sagamore Grand Seigneur jumping for a fundraiser without saddle and bridle.

13.01.2022 Look how stunning these two look I’m so proud of Kelly from Cob and Co stud for coming so far with her confidence to show her gorgeous gypsy cob stallion Minstrel. Nothing makes me happier than seeing clients go from strength to strength, seeing confidence grow in the partnership with their horses and within themselves. ... You’ve always known Minstrel is a superstar but now you believe you are one too! Congratulations on your success over the weekend

09.01.2022 I was scared today. I was scared to get on, scared to walk out the yard because I had a bad ride the day before. One bad ride, and it made me scared. I didn’t... know why. I’ve had 1000 bad rides. I’ve had 1000 falls. I’ve broken bones and bruised my pride on countless occasions, but today I was scared. Why? Because confidence is fragile. It takes months and years to build and seconds to lose and yet we are so careless with it. When we get on a horse, we wear a hat to protect our head. We wear body protectors, gloves, boots... We pay so much attention to protecting ourselves physically, we forget that our minds are not invincible, and our confidence certainly is not. Your bank of confidence needs regular deposits, not just from others... but from you. Self confidence is the most valuable currency in life. When you go to get on, and you hesitate, you falter and you start to ask yourself can I do this?, chances are, your account is almost empty. Every time you laugh and say oh no, I’m no good or so and so is 10x better than me, you make a withdrawal from that account, and before you know it, your account is empty and you’re scared to get on. But every time you say I’m really pleased with how that went or I think I rode that really well, your balance increases. We need to learn to give ourselves a break, pat ourselves on the back and allow ourselves to feel proud of where we are - after all, most of the time we’ve worked bloody hard to get there! Recognising your strengths is just as important as recognising your weaknesses. Never allow yourself or anyone else to empty that account. Confidence is valuable, don’t bankrupt yourself.

I’m 5 months pregnant and felt safe enough to ride her when she returned home. Although Holly has the temperament and brain of a pony far beyond her years she is young and green in her technical abilities so for this reason I will only consider experienced riders - no beginners!
