18.01.2022 Whats the difference between Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) and Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) Well to start - they are similar products and both contain 3g leucine per serve! When choosing between them, it essentially boils down to personal preference and budget WPC requires less processing during manufacturing and so it is less expensive. Some people prefer WPC over WPI for this reason ... Boomers WPC contains sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin like most protein powders When whey protein powder is made, the filtration process removes some of the naturally occurring carbohydrate and fat For WPI, additional filtration occurs to remove almost all of the carbohydrate and fat in order to isolate the protein. This makes WPI very low in lactose and well tolerated by someone who is lactose sensitive It is common to hear that WPC is for adding weight and WPI is for leaning out or that WPI is better than WPC.
