Bringing together talented local darlings to feed you and keep you entertained till it hurts. Plus Rose and Beer on tap! THIS WEEK....for Dinner, @mrfritto_au will bring their nostalgic romance and mixed vegan fry to the wine garden. All local and organic mixed veg deep fried with nice things on top. And with the added bonus of having a lot of Alex Perry going on at the same time! Friday’s at Boomtown from 5pm. BOOK NOW to lock in a table. More announcements on the beer and music front soon. 24.01.2022 Dear Melbourne... Mate I am so sorry, you don’t deserve this! You’ve been working your ass off responding to every roadblock and challenge thrown your way with absolute class and resilience. It’s been truely inspiring and makes me so damn proud. My business exists because of you and your amazing restaurants, wine bars, bottle shops and cafes. The faces behind these businesses that set a culture of love and creativity and passion. I started making wine because of experiences ...I shared with you. I feel spectacularly privileged living down the road from you with freedoms that you can’t currently enjoy. It isn’t fair....but shit already this week you’re cracking on with the job. I’ve been a bit miserable and way less positive generally this time around. BUT I’m feeling buoyed by your relentless optimism. I’m going to take some time this weekend to figure out how best to support the industry and keep my business moving. You guys are all at home drinking again on Tuesday night instead of Thursday night. I’ve got a feeling July is going to be more ‘Damp’ then Dry. Watch this space for a new Boombox out next week...and keep an eye on all your favourite producers and Bottleshops offering amazing deals on local booze. 19.01.2022 O P E N...ish! We’re awkwardly and cautiously nudging the doors open tomorrow and Saturday this week. A bit of a test run for some big plans we’re throwing around for the coming months. For this week: 10 people inside for high NRG socially distanced tasting and casual bottles out the front if the weather holds up. Sorry if it’s weird and rushed and emotional, but so is life and Covid has set the bar of socialising so very low that literally anything different feels like a party!! Melbourne...shit. 14.01.2022 Happy (enough) Friday everyone!! Thanks to LOST for the write up and for a general commitment to telling good stories in our region. Our cellar door remains closed for now but casual drop ins for bottles on Friday are always welcome. ... Keep the crushing the stinkin curve you dreamboats. Drink well, drink local. Xxxooo

12.01.2022 Meet Kaye and Ken: We make their wines every year and have done since they started their brand @gilgraves in 2016. They planted a vineyard in Axedale and have farmed it organically from day 1, selecting varietals that interested them and were right for that site; Shiraz, Sangiovese, Malbec and Viognier. Dorper Sheep manage their undervine and Kaye and Ken handle the rest.... The first four releases from this site have been true field blends. 1 pick, 1 ferment, 1 wine. Every year it’s an exciting day when the grapes come in and the wine we make from that site is always a shed favourite. Like us, the @gilgraves wines are made with wild yeast, no adjustments, no fining/filtration, old oak and very low sulphur. Fruit and site first. A really exciting addition to the Bendigo wine scene for sure! This coming harvest might see the first varietal releases from the site. Despite the masked faces, everyone is pretty pumped about the future! Xxoo

We will be about town tomorrow showing all new Boomtown releases and @minimwine spring lineup. As of now we can squeeze about 5 more appointments in so if you want a look please DM here or call Tim. Mark of @babysnakesbar will be on the tools tomorrow.... This will be the last bite at the Boomtown lineup as they’ve almost all gone, but Tim will be back in the trade after shoot thinning with @minimwine and to drink pots and have chats. 09.01.2022 Boomtown is, at its heart, a co-operative winery. A place where small and independent wine makers can step up production or make their first wines in a shed with pretty decent kit, late nights, good bottles and a collective approach to making nice wines. From very very humble beginnings in 2015 to a bit less humble 2020 we’ve welcomed and shared the floor with some absolute darling Vic winemakers including @jeffery_wines, @minimwine @wine_by_george, @cool_wine_guy, Chapter W...ine, @ephemerawines, @izzy_zazou, @analogwine, @lucenabutton, and @little_reddie (darling no.1). Each leaving their mark on the place...either through some shared thoughts on setup or kit or by ramming the forklift into a wall... Anyway....BOOMTOWN LOVES INDEPENDENT VICTORIAN WINEMAKERS!!! And In light of the current struggles that we’re all facing I’m going to use my audience here this week to post about Victorian producers who’s wines you need to drink and who would love your support. Anyone reading this maybe this week make purchasing a Victorian wine your priority. Go direct or go through one of the great online retailers or local bottle shops who can deliver to your door. @house_wine_ and @ripple_co_op are great winemaker owned mixers that I’m a part of, but you’ll find plenty out there. Don’t buy the bull$hit marketing that’ll have you believe you can get a sixpack for $29. Believe me when I say winemakers are not supported in this type of snake oil racket. 08.01.2022 Hi folks, We’re going to close the cellar door after today. Just for a few weeks. Mostly to get better at sourdough and epidemiology, run for POTUS and catch up on all the movies and TV series that we’ve already watched twice already. BUT, fear not...we WILL come to you! ...
