23.01.2022 Need superfast Internet? Read up on what’s happening in Booroowa. The Old Post Office used to be the centre of our old time partyline telephones. When the new owners get their way and are done with their proposed upgrades, you can expect Gigabit Fibre to take over the scene. Watch this scene :-)

05.01.2022 The Gurlibil Trailer an Agritech solution. With the advent of cloud technology being integrated into the satellite arena (see Amazon Ground stations, LEO satel...lite networks, One Web satellite), precision agriculture using these technologies and sensors on the ground with IoT devices have enabled farmers to predict and improve on harvest productivity (when to plant) and to look at where to place fertilize and water to improve feed pastures. These are only a couple of examples where the combination of these technologies can improve yield and productivity in agriculture. With the proliferation of IoT devices all transmitting and receiving using different methods i.e. Bluetooth, Satellite, Wi-Fi, 3g/4g. It is great to see that the information can be transmitted across the farm, but without a central data store or access to the cloud and data analytics then it is virtually a waste of time as you are not able to analyse the data (locally or in the cloud). The Gurlibil Trailer Solution The Gurlibil Trailer solution is a remote communications solution incorporating a satellite and Wi-Fi link going around the trailer between 200m and up to 300m., (this is dependent on wireless access point technology). The trailer will provide two services. These are: 1. The trailer is towed behind the farmer’s ute and enables him to make VOIP and Wi-Fi calls with phone apps such as WhatsApp. 2. As the farmer travels across the large farm plots the trailer will collect the data onto a rugged server at base stations using Wi-Fi through a Wi-Fi network card. There is also a rugged server on the trailer that is stored in a rack. There is up to 20 RU available on either side of the trailer to fill up with technology equipment. A 12 m telescopic pneumatic antenna is on the back of the trailer and a satellite auto pointing dish. The bandwidth comes from a private satellite company (Orion) and is unlimited. It is impossible to provide NBN satellite as it is against ACMA rules for the time being to provide a NBN satellite connection on a moving connection, NBN connections are fixed to residential addresses. Once data is collected to a centralised store locally and in the cloud then certain data analysis tools are able to be accessed to forecast plantings, improve soil conditions by concentrating on certain soil improvement and fertiliser release methods. Case studies have shown that utilising these techniques has improved farm productivity by up to 20% or more. Precision Agriculture using less of the standard inputs to grow more. Less herbicides, fertilizer, insecticides, pesticide. My solution helps to accurately store this information by recording IoT data, locally and in the cloud, so that the information can be interpreted later. See more
