19.01.2022 Fashion on the Field competitions are a popular part of local race meetings, and are an excellent way of showcasing race goer’s style and flair. Given that Autumn weather can be unpredictable it is a good idea to include some options that enable you to adjust your outfit slightly to suit the weather on the day.

16.01.2022 After a tough bloody week of dealing with the aftermath of the Tomingley fall and seeing our mates Mick Hackett, Mick Gray and Ricky Blewitt deal with their inj...uries. It is brilliant to see such support for the picnics through trainers, jockeys, owners and racing fans. The picnic family came together and managed a phenomenal day of racing Boorowa Picnic Race Club. 12 jockeys from all over NSW and Victoria supported the meeting and backed an industry that was hurting. Over 2000 people were at the track to day to witness the best that the industry had to offer and nobody left disappointed. Great work Boorowa and everyone involved.

16.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE - 2020 Boorowa Picnic Races postponed due to coronavirus concerns. The Boorowa Picnic Race Club committee held a meeting last night, Tuesday 17th March 2020 to discuss the future of the upcoming race meeting, scheduled for Saturday 2nd May 2020 in light of the coronavirus outbreak in Australia. The meeting was called following the Prime Minister’s decision to ban non-essential gatherings of more than 100 people an Racing NSW’s ruling that thoroughbred race m...eetings, barrier trials and trackwork across NSW close to the public due to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases. Tom Kelly, President, Boorowa Race Club said, Our race meet is just over six weeks away and it’s very clear to us it will not be possible for the event to take place. Public health must come first. We are working on a plan to stage the 2020 Picnic Races later in the year. I know this is hugely disappointing news for our members, the many people who work in the racing industry and the thousands who were looking forward to this year’s event, but these are exceptional times and this is the responsible thing to do. We are working closely with Racing NSW and are still hopeful we will be able to have a race meeting later in the year. Racing NSW NSW Country and Picnic Racing

09.01.2022 The broad rule of dressing for Autumn racing is to wear a closed toe shoe, a slightly darker outfit and a felt or wool based hat. Men should wear a two or three piece suit and tie and ensure that shoes are appropriate and well-polished. Good luck!

06.01.2022 Only 10 NSW PRA Picnic Champion Series events. The table is starting to condense and there is only 10 meetings left to get horses into the rich $50,000 final at... Dubbo Turf Club on September 15th. The Northern, Central and Western picnic clubs will now go on show and consistently attract trainers such Rodney Robb, Kylie Kennedy, Sharon Jeffries, Debbie Prest and Alan Prisk and others, who will all look to get their runners through. The cut-off will start to become clearer and by the looks of the table, 25 or more points might be needed to find passage into the final.
