22.01.2022 If a government authorizes the cutting down of a forest, you would think they could do something better with the timber than burning it!

20.01.2022 Points of Discussion There are seemingly some infrastructure provisions that regional local governments have to address more vigorously than those in SEQ, most noticeably 'water security'. In the regions is the provision of water infrastructure in some instances too onerous for local government and is the ratio of state funding equitable. Planning - Should Local Government have greater authority and should appeals to QCAT restricted. Is there anything that can be done to pre...vent local governments entering into costly court proceedings that have little chance of success? Over the past decades local government elections have become more politicized. While it is more pronounce in the areas surrounding various capital cities, it is becoming a factor in major regional cities. Can we curtail this trend or is it something voters will need to accept in the future with councillors being elected on the basis of their political ideology rather than their dedication for community service? It is more than three decades since the last Referendum on Local Government and considering the increase profile of local government is it now time to again seek constitutional recognition and direct funding from the Commonwealth? Past Referendums 1974 Question 4 Constitution Alteration (Local Government Bodies) 1974 sought to give the Commonwealth Parliament powers to borrow money for, and to make financial assistance grants directly to, any local government body.[11] Proposed law entitled ‘An Act to alter the Constitution to enable the Commonwealth to borrow money for, and to grant financial assistance to, local government bodies’. Do you approve the proposed law? Lost in all States with the exception of NSW, National Vote in Favour 47% 1988 Question 3 The Australian Constitution recognizes Government at Federal and State levels, but makes no mention of local government. Constitution Alteration (Local Government) 1988 proposed to alter the constitution so as to recognize local government. Lost in all States, National Vote in Favour 33%

16.01.2022 Our federation may not be perfect but the idea of ceding more power to Canberra is madness. It may all be well for Peter Gleeson to extol the virtues of having a Commonwealth ‘Morrison’ Coalition government running the Covid-19 response nationwide but what of the a future Covid-27 and a Labor lead Dan Andrews Commonwealth government has ultimate power. No, Gleeson and so many others ignore our Constitution and the safely mechanisms it installed against possibility totalitaria...n rule by the clear division of responsibilities between the Commonwealth and the States, a division that had become clouded be revenue collection and distribution system dominated by the Commonwealth, a system that started with the States 'temporarily ceding' income tax powers to the Commonwealth during WWII. Our forefathers would never have envisaged that those in the Parliament of the Commonwealth who are charge with the responsibility of the nation’s defence, foreign affairs; international trade and commerce, currency and immigration would be involved in the determination whether an individual sports ground would get a toilet block upgrade. The Covid-19 risk in regional Australia was completely different from those in the major capital cities of the nation and even the State governments seemed incapable of differentiating their response to the varied risks and a Canberra Government would be even less adept. If anything the Covid-19 response highlights the need to create more states from regional areas to both better provide for decision making in their best interests and prevent the devolution of power to the Commonwealth and limit their coercive use of fiscal leverage.

13.01.2022 An old article worth repeating This story misses the major issue of the continuing diminishing political representation of the million residents of Central and North Queensland. From 21 of 89 seats in the "SEQ Brisbane Parliament in 1986 to 18 of 93 seats. With the population of SEQ is increasing at more than twice that of regional Queensland thus in future electoral boundary reviews, the political representation of Central and North Queensland will be further reduced. ... Boot Brisbane has full confidence in the capability of the nearly one million residents of Central and North Queensland to govern their regions as a State of the Commonwealth of Australia and is adamant that they are entitled to no less than the same political representation as the 520,000 residents of Tasmania: a bicameral parliament a 25member legislative assembly a 15member legislative council 5 federal House of Representative members 12 federal Senators

12.01.2022 When are the people and leadership of Cairns going to wake up the Brisbane Headquartered and SEQ focused Labor Party and LIBERAL national Party are only ever going to string them on and avoid the delivery of any meaningful spending.

12.01.2022 The Bradfield Scheme was designed to send water SOUTH. It will not benefit the vast areas of North and Far North Queensland and will drain government funding for decades and thus will deny the funding of many other smaller but vital water and development projects.Projects in Central and North Queensland must be evaluated and prioritized in relation to the benefits to our regions.

12.01.2022 The two major parties have fallen to the Extreme Green left. On October 31 put North Queensland First!

10.01.2022 My speech from yesterday when I asked the Parliament - what has gone so terribly wrong in our state? We have billions of dollars to spend on the shambles that i...s the Cross River Rail Project, but we cant deliver dialysis, chemo and CT scanners to rural hospitals? We can spend untold amounts to bring some AFL players up to Queensland for a few months and host the grand final, but we cant deliver water to farmers at reasonable enough prices to let them get ahead and advance. COVID-19 has turned the blissful ignorance so many have been enjoying on its head and enough is enough. Agriculture and mining will be the salvation in terms of the prosperity of people in this state. There is dissent in the regions and there will be a reckoning at the election if people dont recognise this. #KAPteam #qldpol

10.01.2022 This week we discuss Northern QLD conservation, sustainable development and creating possible new industries in North QLD. It was particularly interesting to hear that even environmentalists and conservationists have a hard time with the current State Goverments red tape! That's why we need a New Parliament, in a New Northern State. Thanks Geoff for joining us!

10.01.2022 It was an absolute pleasure speaking with Alex Witten from Godwin Witten Realty. He shares his insight and experience into the North Queensland property market, Governing bodies and the organisations that liaise with them, and the prospects of a more desirable future for Central and North QLD in a New State, with a New Parliament. Apparently we dont need to look for the first Premier either - Alex has it covered!

05.01.2022 Election 2020 is not about Central and North Queensland getting their "FAIR SHARE", rather it about ending our ever diminishing presentation in the Brisbane Parliament and securing full political representation afforded as a State of the Australian Commonwealth!

04.01.2022 Abandoning ship? Disabilities Minister Coralee ORourke Mines and Energy Minister Anthony Lynham Tourism Minister Kate Jones, The Betting Odds will tighten after these three scratchings and we havent even made it to the barrier draw!... What odds a Labor Greens Coalition after Election 2020 Current Labor Government have 48 seats, a two-seat majority If Labor loss 2 seats they will need one cross bench member to form a minority Government Greens, Michael Berkman, Member for Maiwar, provided he retains his seat could be their choice. If Labor loss 3 seats they will need two cross bench members to form a minority Government Two Green members elected in the concrete jungle should not be ruled out. If Labor loss 3 or more seats the KAP comes into the picture. Current LNP Opposition has 39 seats and needs to will 8 seats to form government in its own right. LNP need to win at least 4 seats to have a chance to form a minority with the help of the cross bench. See more

02.01.2022 Yesterday's interview really cool interview with Chris Wigton, paraplegic man who still Kayaks, sings, writes songs. 02.01.2022 Well, we're back, from the win on Wednesday night, A separate State may solve the problem of QLD dominance on Origin, proving QLD can now maybe support 2 teams. State of Origin Tri-series, a new era, and team introduction of the true heartland of Rugby League in Australia, Central and North QLD.

02.01.2022 We need NQ representatives in Brisbane; not Brisbane representatives in NQ! We need better representatives like Attila Feher-Holan - KAP Candidate Mulgrave! Above all - we need a New State and the representation it will deliver! #bootbrisbane
