25.01.2022 When we were painting the salon Rob thought it would be fun to add some spots for me. Whod have guessed, I love spots. I did insist they be painted over, sometimes you can have too many spots,

25.01.2022 I did my apprenticeship with Gary.

24.01.2022 Mum and Melanie restocking the shelves after the painting was finished.

21.01.2022 Early photos of our much loved Bain de Terre range.

21.01.2022 Both of these areas eventually would be painted black.

20.01.2022 Just as well grandpa Eric taught her how to do basic plumbing. After dad passed away, Melanie became our plumber for quick basin repairs.

20.01.2022 SORRY Booval Hair Flair SHOP 2 12 SOUTH STATION RD. IS NOT OPEN.... THANK YOU. See more

19.01.2022 Melanies Godmother sent this photo to me yesterday. That long hair really was such a lot of work to maintain. It came about because when she was little she was the worst kid Ive ever had to give a haircut. So I just let it grow. She still hates having her haircut. Its only cut once a year to maintain the same length. Just as well she uses only the best products and her hair has always been in the best condition. Shes been a walking advertisement for Bain de Terre, recovery complex serum.

17.01.2022 Two special salon friends drawing the winning ticket in our Christmas giveaway.

16.01.2022 Petrina arranged a very special friend to be waiting for me when I arrived at work . I still have him, hes lost weight though.

16.01.2022 Dont worry, this is the last in the series of how we looked 35 years ago.

15.01.2022 I wasnt much help with the redecorating that year, it was the Christmas break I had my arthritic knuckle cut away so it could have the screws put in. Very successful operation that enables me to still keep cutting.

15.01.2022 Still trying to perfect the selfie. I found that using a mirror helps.

14.01.2022 Before the wall dryers we had the lounge chairs. That is until one of them died at a very inconvenient time and had to be replaced immediately.

13.01.2022 Just a few different hairstyles over the years. Obviously not recently.

12.01.2022 Work in progress

12.01.2022 Mum liked to have her hair done every week. Thats why I put her to work as our Saturday morning Tea and Tidy girl.

12.01.2022 I tired of the red upholstery and recovered the barber chair and waiting area chair black. Come to think of it I ended up painting lots of things black over the years.

10.01.2022 This little girl would come in on Friday afternoons with her mum and Melanie would call in on her way home from University and always read to her. They moved away and some years later on a visit back to Ipswich she wanted to read to Melanie. Fairy costumes were always a favourite with her, so one day when her mother brought her in for a trim I was wearing my fairy wings also (sorry no photo). I got some strange looks from people walking past the salon while I was doing a haircut wearing fairy wings.

03.01.2022 This photo is of a very dear friend and her new perm. She particularly asked me to share this photo, it was taken about a year after she had finished chemo and lost all of her hair. She had been looking forward to the day she could have her regrown hair permed again. After consulting with her doctors we had the green light . She was so happy to have her curls again. It was a very emotional day for both of us. She hopes that these photos bring comfort and hope to other women who loose their hair to chemo. It grows back, its your health thats important Bless you Pat, you still inspire me.

02.01.2022 I love showing before and after transformations.

02.01.2022 Don’t worry, this is the last in the series of how we looked 35 years ago.

01.01.2022 A salon memory that I would rather forget. The left foot broken in two places, the right foot badly sprained and busted ribs. All because of a cheap rubber mat at the bottom of the stairs in the back car park. 9 weeks in plaster or the moon boot. THANKS AGAIN PETRINA, YOU WERE AWSOME.
