06.01.2022 R&R Inspiration: Stuck for a good read? Thanks to Mary who flicked this one to me! Set in Tasmania 2018, its based on two longtime friends - Jessica then moving to Melbourne and Sally settling in Hobart. Jessica returns and a mystery ensues with the ladies stumbling across the secret life of Sallys grandmother, Stella. This leads to regular flash backs to 1930s Tasmania to help uncover what Stella had been really getting up to by herself in the forest . During one of... those flashbacks, a terrible virus polio is mentioned which affected many lives of both adults and children. Everyone was terrified of catching it! Apart from the fairly predictable plot, I loved reading about the wine, cheese, Sallys truffle and saffron farming. If I could I would have booked a ticket down to Tassie just for the food! An easy read, I enjoyed the friendship of the 2 women, the history, the description of the beautiful ancient Tasmanian forests - Arcadia 3/5 If you love reading or you know of someone who does - please share.
