25.01.2022 As part of our commitment to zero harm, Boral supports and works with Road Safety Education (RSE) to help make Australia’s roads safer. RSE’s national program, RYDA, focuses on cognition development and motivating low risk behaviour among senior high school students. It helps them develop personalised strategies and life skills that will help them respond positively to challenges on the road, both as drivers and highly influential passengers. Boral’s support of this program... helps the RYDA program reach over 20,000 young drivers across Australia each year. #NationalRoadSafetyWeek #RoadSafetyEducation #BoralAustralia RYDA Road Safety

24.01.2022 To increase the safety and amenity for residents and visitors to Bondi’s iconic beach, Waverley council identified that the culvert underneath the promenade needed replacing. As the new concrete culvert would be in a marine tidal/splash zone the council was concerned that the reinforcing steel in the concrete would corrode. The solution was to use Boral’s ENVISIA concrete. For more information visit www.boral.com.au/envisia #boral #buildsomethinggreat #concrete

20.01.2022 The revitalisation of two suburban skate parks in Wollongong NSW provided Boral an opportunity to showcase a successful fusion of design and innovation to create something that is both functional and sustainable. It was here that Boral provided ENVISIA concrete for its low shrinkage properties to help reduce the risk of cracking, and Luminesque Illuminating Concrete for decorative effect. How magical does it look!

13.01.2022 Happy International Women's Day! Today is a global celebration of the achievements of women. This year, as we commemorate 75 years as a proud Australian company, we are reflecting on how far we have come. One of our first female employees, Patricia Evans, joined Boral in 1949 as an accountant. She was one of the earliest women to work in accounting in Australia and was considered a pioneer in a male-dominated industry. Today, we have many, many talented women in our business ...who have achieved incredible things. Our journey is not over yet. Let's continue to celebrate women's achievement, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality. Together we can build a gender-equal world. #IWD2021 #ChooseToChallenge You can read our interview with Patricia here: https://fal.cn/3dQok

05.01.2022 Timber Decking Tip #98 After installation, the deck must be swept and cleaned to remove metal filings from drilling, nailing or other construction that may cause black spots on the deck when exposed to the elements. If the deck has turned grey from natural weathering or has been discoloured due to metal filings, a solution of oxalic acid crystals mixed with water will help bring it back to its original beauty. 02.01.2022 This is certainly not the best photo of our Wollert Quarry in metropolitan Melbourne. And the gate is definitely not an outstanding example of a modern engineering masterpiece. It does, however, mean a great deal to those that matter to us...our Eastern Grey Kangaroo population, affectionately known throughout the City of Whittlesea as the "Boral Mob" and those that care about their wellbeing, a dedicated wildlife team made up of a group of epic Epping locals. If you live close by to Boral's Wollert Quarry and would like to join our Environment Review Committee, our Stakeholder Relations team would love to hear from you.
