25.01.2022 Epic news: direct flights from Melbourne to Busselton will start 1st February Jetstar will fly three times a week, from Melbourne’s Tullamarine to the Bu...sselton-Margaret River Airport. Initial sale fares start at $149 each way (bargain!) Originally scheduled to begin in March 2020, we’re stoked these direct flights will start early in 2021. It's fantastic news, especially as the West Aussie borders reopen, and we think our pals flying in from Melbourne are going to love the warmer weather, beautiful beaches, long winery lunches and incredible biodiversity. This particular stretch of sand runs from Meelup and Castle Rock (pictured) right down to Dunsborough in the distance. It's a choice spot for swimming, stand up paddle boarding, snorkelling or hiking the bush trails, often as a prelude to the Cape to Cape Track walk. You can see why Lonely Planet named this region Number 1 on their Best in Asia Pacific list, with water "the hue of Bombay Sapphire bottle". So what are you waiting for, Melburnians, it's time to snap up some tickets! Mitchell Clarke IG/mkz.imagery

The Margaret River reg...ion is home to endless beautiful seaside walks where you can immerse yourself in the rawness of this ancient coastline. Canal Rocks is one such spot with easy and safe access to get your fix of nature after being cooped up all winter. See more

11.01.2022 Day 5 of our spring bucket list - See the Light She’s been keeping sailors safe since 1903, and there’s no better way to experience Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse than... to climb aboard a guided tour. See the light and the original 12-tonne crystal lens and take in the ripper view of where two oceans kiss. You might even see a passing whale or dolphin, if you’re lucky. The Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse Precinct picked up a WA Heritage Award recently, so be sure to check out the Lightkeeper’s Cottage Interpretive Centre while you’re there. 09.01.2022 Hello spring, we’ve been waiting for you

07.01.2022 When the largest animal on earth comes to visit (blue whale, they visit every spring) it'd be rude not to go and say g'day, right!? Dylan Dehaas Films was lu...cky enough to see twelve of these magnificent creatures over the weekend, and it looks like the people aboard Naturaliste Charters would have been bubbling with excitement too. Blue whales grow to around 29 metres and 170+ tonnes, making them the largest animal on the planet. They migrate through Geographe Bay each year as they travel between the Antarctic breeding and feeding ground and the warm 'maternity ward' waters of the Kimberley region. It's estimated that only a few hundred blue whales migrate along the West Australian coast each year, while around 35,000 humpback whales make the annual journey. Be sure to join a whale watching cruise before the season wraps up - there are charters departing Dunsborough and Busselton twice a day. If you have a Wander Voucher to redeem this week, whale watching could be a winner!
