24.01.2022 The local Glider tug annual inspection in progress, this includes any special inspections due. The local glider tug has a tow hook which is overhauled each year in-house, in accordance with CASA Airworthiness Directive Supplementary 8 (AD/Supp/8). This tow hook, on the test rig, required major adjustment to release within the required limits.

23.01.2022 Aircraft may only fly minimal hours during the year but the calendar keeps on ticking. An annual inspection is required, to carry out preventive maintenance and catch unsuspecting defects. This Grumman tiger had camshaft metal in the filter and corrosion in the tail skin glued joints, which de-bonded. Border Aviation will have this fine aircraft back in the air with confidence.

05.01.2022 Border Aviation is delighted to bring the historic De Havilland Dove aircraft DH104 back into the air including an instrument upgrade. The wings were required be removed to enable a CASA airworthiness directive to be complied with.
