24.01.2022 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT!!! The Border Raiders would like to welcome Jeff Scott as the women's coach for 2020! Jeff comes with a wealth of coaching qualifications and experience having previously held a number of coaching positions in Brisbane.... Jeff is very passionate about football and we are extremely excited for what he will bring to the role as our women's coach in 2020. Women's training will start on Tuesday 4 February 2020 with times to be announced closer to the date. The Border Raiders invites all women of all ages and abilities who might be interested in staying active with a fantastic group of girls to come down and see what we are about!!! We have junior age groups from under 5's all the way to under 18's! Registrations and further information will be available for parents and players on the day.... 23.01.2022 SUMMER FOOTBALL DETAILS: Further to our announcement of a return to play last week, details for each competition are as follows:- MESA... Commencing on Sunday 1 November 2020 Under 7's -under 12's from 10am-11am Under 14's- under 16's 11am - 12pm Social 5-a-side Commencing on 6 November all age groups from 7pm. Once registrations come in a fixture will e produced and kick off times announced for the social competition. For the social 5-a-side if you have a team already one person needs to register the team via the link and then all players can select "join team". 23.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE To the Border Raiders Family, As you would all know by now on 17 March 2020 FFA suspended all football activities in Australia until 14 April 2020. ... This evening FFA have announced that this suspension will continue in effect until 31 May 2020. Whilst sport for many people is an outlet and a release from the everyday stresses of life, this decision has been made with the health and safety of the community in mind. We will continue to update you with any further developments as they come and we hope that you are all staying safe and well during this difficult time. The Border Raiders Committee

22.01.2022 We are super excited to announce the return of football for the Border Raiders!!!!!! We will be running two programs over the summer period:- 1. MESA juniors;... 2. 5-a-side social summer competition. MESA will commence on 1 November 2020 and will run for approximately 6 weeks. Our 5-a-side summer social competition will commence on 6 November 2020 and also run for a 6-7 week period. If you are looking to socialise and do something fun, get a team together. 18.01.2022 Game Day tomorrow...... We have our first practice match of the season against the Brimbank Stallions. 10am kick off. Why not come down to Jack Eddy for a look? Also tonight, all Raiders are invited for dinner with Ex Socceroo Andrew Marth and the Brimbank Stallions soccer team at The Deck in Echuca. Dinner starts at 7pm.

17.01.2022 TRAINING REMINDER! A reminder to parents and players that the Border Raiders Junior teams start training from 5:30pm tomorrow Tuesday 11 February 2020. Training for all other teams remain the same.... MESA dates will be announced in due course.

16.01.2022 RETURN TO PLAY We have been advised by the Bendigo Amateur Soccer League that our junior BASL teams will commence competitions from 4 July 2020. This is for our under 12's, 14's and 16's. Our senior teams (including women and youth) will return to competition from 26 July 2020.... Accordingly our registrations are now open for all teams from Saturday morning MESA through to our senior 18+ players. Whilst we are still waiting confirmation from BASL and Football Victoria in relation to registration fees the club has taken the unprecedented step of substantially reducing registration fees for all our players in 2020 to allow all new and returning players to be able to play soccer in 2020. We are also part of the active kids program and any vouchers can be forwarded to our treasurer Vicki at [email protected]. 15.01.2022 SATURDAY MORNING MESA The Border Raiders are pleased to announce the return date for Saturday morning MESA for 2020. MESA will commence the 2020 season on Saturday 18 July 2020.... Our "Come and Try day" that we hosted in March 2020 prior to the suspension of all community sport was a roaring success. We will therefore be hosting a second "Come and Try day" next Saturday 11 July 2020 from 9 - 10am. If you have any difficulties registering your child/children, members of the committee will be available with laptops to assist with registering your kids at the "Come and Try day". In accordance with FFA's below circular in response to the COVID-19 virus, all Border Raiders' soccer activities (including trainings) will be suspended until 14 April 2020. We understand that this is disappointing for many of our members and players but we must follow the advice of our governing body and consider the health of our community, members and players.... The landscape will no doubt change between now and 14 April 2020 so we encourage all our members, players and other stakeholders to stay in touch with the club and the committee over the coming weeks. 14.01.2022 We are excited to announce that training resumes this week for our under 12's, 14's and 16's! Whilst it is very exciting to be able to get back out on the park we must continue to be responsible and practice good behaviours so ensure you read the below information. Please take note of the arrival times below:-... Under 12's - Tuesday 5:15pm arrival for a 5:30pm start. Under 14's - 5pm arrival for a 5:15pm start. Under 16's - 4:45pm for a 5pm start. Please ensure you adhere strictly to the arrival times as a requirement of Football Victoria's Return to Training conditions. All members intending to participate in training as well as parents must familiarise themselves with the below Return to Training conditions. 11.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Jeff Scott on being recognised by Moama Anglican Grammar for his volunteering contributions to the community and our Club! Thanks for all your hard work Jeff! Whilst we have been busy readying the club to return to footballing activities it is important to take the time to recognise and appreciate the tireless efforts of the volunteers within our club and our community.... Volunteer week is the perfect opportunity to do this. Our volunteers, be it coaches, committee members, linemarkers, parents and other volunteers put a staggering amount of their own time and energy into making sure that everything is organised so that our players can focus on playing football. Often this time and effort goes unrecognised and we encourage the Border Raiders family to take the time to thank the volunteers that make it all happen. To our volunteers on behalf of the Border Raiders family, thank you for all your fantastic work!

10.01.2022 RETURN TO TRAINING! We are excited to announce a staged return to training over the next couple of weeks starting with our senior teams on Tuesday 26 May 2020. Please note that it is a condition of Football Victoria's Return to Training that all participating players be registered with their club through Playfootball. 08.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT!! Please note that training is cancelled tomorrow night for all ages and divisions due to the forecasted weather conditions. We look forward to seeing you all next Tuesday.

08.01.2022 The club has tonight made the difficult decision to withdraw our junior teams from BASL competitions for season 2020. We will instead be entering our junior teams into a modified local competition to be announced in due course. In light of the border closures and the conditions of the NSW border crossing permits, it is not viable to continue in BASL competitions for this season. Many of our members live, work or are educated in Moama and cannot afford to self isolate for a 14... day period after travelling to Bendigo for an away fixure. We understand that this will be disappointing news for all our members however the committee and volunteers will work hard to ensure that there is viable local soccer available for our members and the wider Echuca Moama community in the near future. Community sport is so pivotal in these difficult times and can offer a fantastic sense of community in addition to the substantial mental and physical health benefits. Please stay tuned for further announcements. We hope that you, your friends, colleagues and family will join us to participate in the new local competition for 2020 when it is announced. Please note that no decision has been made in relation to our senior teams as the BASL senior competitions do not commence until 26 July 2020. 08.01.2022 Over the next couple of weeks we will be placing posts featuring our sponsors of 2019. Without their financial help throughout the season we would struggle to field sides in both our senior and junior competitions. So thank you very much for putting your hand in your pocket and helping us out. Where does the sponsorship funds go? ... These funds are used to run the club. For example, purchase of new equipment, hire of grounds in Moama, referee payments, insurance and affiliation fees with BASL. No money is used in paying players. As we are playing in an amateur league and therefore all players play for the love of the game and club. 07.01.2022 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT! The Border Raiders are extremely excited to announce the division 2 men's coach for 2020, Jono Keele! Jono has been a club stalwart for a number of years and is a well known face to all our members.... Taking the reins of our division 2 squad in 2020, Jono has a mandate to build a spirited team. His focus will be to encourage social and enjoyable aspects to get men of all abilities involved in organised sport whilst still maintaining a competitive mindset on match days. The men's division 2 team will begin training on Tuesday 21 January 2020 at 6:30pm. 06.01.2022 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT! The Border Raiders would like to welcome Jack Morrison back as our under 12's coach for 2020! Jack was phenomenal with our junior members in 2019 developing foundational football skills in the players in a fun and enjoyable way that really engaged our under 12's. Jack also had a fantastic rapport with the parents of our juniors which resulted in a fantastic community spirit around the team.... We are very excited that Jack is returning to coach the under 12's in 2020. Under 12's will begin training in February 2020 with dates and times to be announced in due course. The Border Raiders have junior teams from ages 3-18. We will also have open mixed training for all other age groups until training officially commences for our other teams in early February. 03.01.2022 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT In light of the Victoria and NSW Government announcements today regarding the border closures in response to COVID-19 we will be cancelling training for all age groups tomorrow 7 July 2020. Please be patient as we look to work with stakeholders to find suitable and viable facilities in Victoria on which to train until the border closure is lifted.... As always our mission remains to ensure that all people have access to soccer in our region and we will continue forward with that in mind. We await further announcements from the State governments to confirm the club's position going forward. Please note that the under 12a's fixture against Castlemaine Gold this weekend will be postponed. The under 16a fixture against Strathdale this will also be postponed and will be rescheduled. Our under 14's will play this weekend as fixtured. There will be further announcements in relation to junior BASL fixtures and MESA in the near future so please stay tuned.

02.01.2022 To our Members, players, parents, volunteers and sponsors. Further to Football Victoria's release of their Return to Training Conditions last Friday, we are busy putting the club in a position to comply with those conditions so as we can all get back out on the pitch! We are working towards a return to modified training on 26 May 2020 for some of our teams. However because it is a Football Victoria requirement for all players participating in training to be registered, we are... still waiting clarification from BASL, Football Victoria and Football Federation Australia regarding their registration fees before we can confirm this date. It is a requirement that all our players and parents read the Return to Training conditions shared on the Facebook page on Friday 15 May 2020. This will ensure that the club and all the individuals involved in it are able to provide our players with a safe and hygienic training environment. Furthermore, we are excited to confirm that Football Victoria have advised a Return to Play date of 28 June 2020. This is still a working date but it is something that we as a club are very excited about and we are sure that all our players are excited to get back into playing the game. There will be further announcements and information in due course so please stay tuned.
