04.01.2022 The Governments commitment to slashing red tape and improving road safety will boost the economy, create jobs and save lives, ATA Chair David Smith said today.... In an address to the Committee for the Economic Development of Australia, Prime Minister Scott Morrison (ScoMo) pointed out that: Trucks were allowed to resupply along roads and during hours where they were previously banned. And the sun came up the next day. The ATA believes that governments should not reintroduce the bans, and support the PM's calls for deregulation, calling for further action on: - improved access for High Productivity Freight Vehicles - streamlining fatigue and removing the impractical requirements in driver work diaries - overhauling heavy vehicle accreditation, and - building better and more frequent rest areas Read the full story: http://www.truck.net.au//clarion-call-industry-deregulatio
