17.01.2022 Parvovirus Parvo = Small in Latin, however the impact it has on your pet is anything but small. It attacks the lining of the intestines and causes very severe bloody diarrhoea. Any animal that isn’t vaccinated is at risk of contracting it. Parvo is a very resilient virus, living on surfaces, in the soil and on shoes or car tyres for years. The only protection is vaccination. Your puppy needs a full course of 3 vaccinations to be fully protected (at 8wks, 12wks and 16wks) with a booster every year. Due to the Show holiday tomorrow and Labour day on Monday, the clinic will be closed Friday and Monday. Our emergency service will be running as normal.

17.01.2022 Just a reminder to all our clients that due to ANZAC Day, we will be closed tomorrow (25/4/20). Our emergency service will still be running (0427713688) over the weekend.

16.01.2022 Every day is a great day for kitten cuddles! These little bundles of joy came in for a health check before going to MAP rescue to find a new home. Any suggestions for names?

14.01.2022 Can you identify these snakes? They are all Eastern Browns! Identifying snakes based on their appearance is very difficult (and potentially dangerous) so we recommend treating all snake bites as a matter of urgency. Here in Qld we have a huge variety of venomous snakes, so the signs that your pet may show once bitten can vary greatly. Pre-paralytic syndrome is a sign of a severe envenomation, with signs including collapse, vomiting, drooling, urinating and defecating, trembl...ing and rapid breathing. This is often followed by a period of apparent recovery. These animals should be seen by a vet as soon as possible to maximise their chance of survival. Your pet may also have brown or red urine, become slowly paralysed, develop bruises or pinprick spots of blood on their skin or have blood in their faeces or vomit. If your animal has been bitten by a snake, please call the clinic and get them seen by a vet as soon as possible. See more

05.01.2022 On behalf of Border vets: We are currently experiencing issues with our phones at the moment and are working hard to get them fixed, however, unfortunately it is a Telstra state-wide issue and may take longer then expected. Some calls are still able to come through to our clinic phone so please still call (07) 4671 3688. If you do not reach anyone you can email our reception at [email protected] or try calling 0427 713 688, from there a message will be able to be passed ...on to our reception and someone will be able to call you back as soon as possible.
