25.01.2022 This afternoon the Mister and I set the scene for a tailored group clay group session with @camille_kersley @artshealthbusiness and afternoon tea in the cottage garden for Daniel and Toni's crew @six8coffee No thunderstorm whewph! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to take any photos of the food we crafted But for you the follower we will share we were inspired by Tapas and made Tuna, Olive and Pine nut Empanadillas, Spinach and Mushroom Tortillas and Sweet potato bites... with Guacamole Salsa and Bacon. And for sweets it was Chocolate, date and coconut bliss balls, Walnut meringue with cream topped with strawberry and chocolate toppings and Orange and almond cake with syrupy drizzle. Garden tea make from calendula, yarrow, lemon balm and mint, all from the food forest. This was a first, the Mister and I are a good team. Maybe we could do this again ... See more

24.01.2022 Creeping thyme doing its thing. Beautiful rock steps near the shed skillion roof handcrafted by the Mister. Today was a day full of energy for weeding. Feeling steadfast in not using any herbicides in our garden for 16 years now. It feels good to watch the chooks free range in the whole space and for us to be eating produce straight from this soil. What are our weapons? Cardboard, mulch, scalding hot water for driveways and paved areas and a hell of a lot of perseverance. There are two small areas where we have put down black plastic but being composters we now know better about plastic eventually breaking down into soil we have avoided it for more than a decade. Sticking to our guns. Know better, do better.

22.01.2022 The end of our Spring workshops for 2020. The season of outdoor workshops began with Conversations in Clay and ended with Conversations in Clay. A worksop now enjoyed by many. Thanks Camille @artshealthbusiness @camille_kersley for breathing magic into our day. Feast your eyes on these beautiful creations made with busy hands, all heart and soul. Settling into the evening and feeling ever so grateful.

20.01.2022 Local clay, come and play. Look at this crafted creation! DM me if you want in on this Saturday’s Conversations in Clay workshop

20.01.2022 A dear friend sent me a photo of snow melting and signs that spring is coming - in her part of the world that is - the Northern Hemisphere. Here the weeping cherry out front is showing its changes. Autumn showing us how beautiful it is to let things go. Autumn by William Morris ‘Laden Autumn here I stand... Worn of heart, and weak of hand: Nought but rest seems good to me, Speak the word that sets me free’ What words set you free? Welcoming in the change that is coming.

18.01.2022 The little caps on the Elephant Garlic are starting to come off. These purples and pale green colours inspired me to paint our dining room and the children’s bedroom doors that face it. This place has been such a great canvas. Not afraid of colour here, both inside and outside. So much dreaming and huge projects happening with the Mister and I at Boree Log Cottage Thanks for following the adventures!

17.01.2022 A cornflower amongst all the broccoli going to seed. We are leaving them as they are, dense with white flowers. Finally we see a few bees buzzing around in the fledgling food forest. Little by little we are changing the ecosystem here. The creatures sighted here to date include Magpies, Blackbirds, Jenny Wrens, ants, worms and some bees. Oh and a centipede when we did our composting workshop. Yikes.

13.01.2022 ***SOLD*** A beauty for our Pop Up Emporium. Fancy the sound of the piano accordian at your place? It needs someone who is being called to play its keys, its buttons pushed to have music bellowing out of from its reeds, and for people to be entertained. I am resigned to settle for listening to the great accordian tracks on CD. Letting go of this beautiful sounding instrument that I have not been able to master playing... ... Vintage Piano Accordian Made in Italy. I. Busilacchio 80 bass keys 3 registers Straps Carry Case And bonus learn how to play book. $300 (pick up only) Direct message me if you are interested in this Ruby Red Gem.

11.01.2022 Stopping to take notice. Finding a bit of awe and wonder in the everyday

11.01.2022 Launching Begin Again tomorrow and our Autumn 2021 program! Thrilled to have some special peeps with us tomorrow and excited to be back facilitating again. It just so happens it’s a New Moon tomorrow. Just perfect timing.

09.01.2022 We have planted fennel, corn and pumpkin in the food forest. So exciting! Over the weekend, this area became another space to share. If you are someone that holds a permaculture design certificate and are looking for a space to run the course we would love to hear from you. I hope to have my permaculture trainer wheels on so we will be canvassing the right person for Boree Log Cottage to collaborate with. There are going to be lots of summer projects here so that come Autumn we will expand more spaces to gather in 2021. All outdoors of course. There’s no looking back. For now we are getting ready for our last workshop this Saturday. Conversations in Clay with @camille_kersley @artshealthbusiness Only a few more spots left so email me on [email protected] for a registration flyer.

08.01.2022 We now have 5 mulberry trees but with this - a small weeping mulberry makes 6. It's the first to fruit up. So delicious. We can't help but eat them as we wander through the garden.

07.01.2022 Cat mint. Our puss wuss doesn't care for it but it's a winner in the garden over the spring and summer. Something really exciting is happening here this Sunday afternoon... We are rolling out the welcome mat for one more special Spring activity. A lesson for the soul, keep your heart open, say yes to new and different opportunities coming your way. My heart is deeply invested in sharing this place, our wabisabi existence, our perfect imperfection. ... So welcome, welcome, welcome in. See more

07.01.2022 A timely downpour early this morning to freshen everything once again. So grateful.

06.01.2022 Food forest picking determining the meal

05.01.2022 I tend to shy from photos. But this one taken by a dear participant today was enough for me to want to post it. It’s me saying THANKYOU to all of our cottage followers and supporters, our facilitators this Spring and to all the workshop goers. Until the Autumn program you won’t see a picture of me again. Heh heh much love from Boree Log Cottage xx Sandra
