25.01.2022 Hi! I'm Ami, and I'm a copywriter. The other day I had someone ask me what it is that I do for work and when I told her that I'm a copywriter I swear that her face went totally blank and I heard crickets chirping. I could see that she had no idea what a copywriter is and I really couldn't blame her, it took me a while to realise that the work that I was doing was actually copywriting. When I first started out, if someone asked me about my work I would reply with something l...ike "I help girl bosses, creatives and small businesses create awesome web and social media content to help them reach their dream audience." Ummm, what a mouthful! While I have a better handle on my job title now, it's *exactly* what I do. Still scratching your head a bit about what a copywriter does? Here's just a taste of what I've been doing for my clients. web content blog posts social media content email marketing press releases client briefs research proofreading And no, I have nothing to do with lawyers and trademarks. One of the things that I LOVE about my job is that I can do it anywhere. It doesn't matter if a client is in another city, state or country, all I need is my trusty laptop and I'm good to go!

24.01.2022 Yesterday I got the chance to be at the Change the World event put on by Hancock Creative and HOLY MOLY was it awesome! Created especially for non-profits and community organisations, it was a day full of amazing marketing wizards sharing their tricks and wisdom on how to work smarter when it comes to promoting your cause, and it left me feeling super motivated to use my copywriting skills for good. So, to keep paying it forward, today on the blog, I'm sharing three things that stuck with me the most.

19.01.2022 I've been a little quiet on here lately, but it's because I've been super busy with one of my favourite clients @adarlingaffair! I have a special place in my heart for this amazing biz, they're the one's that gave me my first shot and gave me the confidence to take my love of writing and turn it into something more. If you're a bride on the Sunshine Coast (or even just looking for a fun day out), you should totally hit up their next wedding fair in October. It's gonna be killer!

18.01.2022 Working from bed because I had my gallbladder removed yesterday. Eeek! The kid is with the Grandparent's and I have the house to myself! Who am I kidding? By working, I actually mean netflix. I'll be watching netflix in bed today. For reals, it was totally worth having surgery just to get a day to myself. #mumlife

17.01.2022 Hey, dudes and dudettes! It's been awhile since I've shown my round lil face around here (and I'm happy to say that it's because I've been slammed with work!). So I thought it was about time that I introduced myself again. I'm Ami-lee (though I usually introduce myself as Ami, since 90% of people think I'm saying Emily) I'm a big fan of old movies and I've watched Cleopatra more times than I could count. If you haven't seen it, you're not living your best life. Trust me. Eli...zabeth Taylor is a dream. I used to think I was a Spicegirl and I have no regrets about my fashion choices. I have endometriosis and PCOS and it took @kurtparton and I 5 years to fall pregnant. It was tough but totally worth the wait. It also taught me the importance of patience. I've always loved writing and last year I decided to be brave and launch Born to Bloom Social! I help creative girlbosses and small businesses with copywriting and social media management. Seriously, it's the best!

15.01.2022 Happy International Yoga Day!!!! I would put myself in the wannabe yogi category for sure. In absolutely NO WAY am I any good at yoga, I'm like a beached whale gasping for breath and I usually end up doing it in my pj's. But every time I do yoga I have more energy, feel better, work better, sleep better and feel like it helps to calm my endometriosis. It's become something that Scout and I do together (she even has her own mat) and I love that she get's excited to move her little bod. A couple of months ago I did a course with @Themerrymakersisters and it was exactly what I needed to help me get excited to exercise. These girls are seriously gorgeous inside and out, totally encouraging and major girl bosses. The epitome of #womensupportingwomen @Society6

15.01.2022 There are so many things to think about when you're running your own business, sometimes the list can seem endless and it can be hard to know where to start. So, here are some suggestions to get the ball rolling. What direction is your business heading? Have you defined who your target audiences are and what you can offer them that nobody else can?... Tick these babies off your to-do list, and you'll be surprised how motivated you'll feel! Remember, where focus goes, energy flows!
