21.01.2022 2 barrels ready to go to their new homes this week.

20.01.2022 In amongst two garden seats, I am in the middle of 6 candle holders, 4 small tables 1 large clock and 3 small clocks. Next up varnished barrels some with table tops and some varnished pots.

20.01.2022 Another dog bed almost ready

20.01.2022 A few weeks ago I delivered two of these pots to a customer, these are the really good ones on wheels. When she asked for three more it took a little while to source some matching barrels. Im pretty happy with the match, more importantly the customer is happy. Thanks for sharing your pics Kristy. Looking great.

20.01.2022 The workshop is closed for a few days, I am going reopen early next week. So a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all my customers and followers and I look forward to creating some new and exciting things in 2021. I have a new collaborative project coming in the new year. Watch this space!!!

19.01.2022 The latest project underway in the workshop, tomorrow the legs will be braced, then paint the bands and give it all the usual 4 coats of marine grade varnish.

18.01.2022 Something a bit different, one picture of a dogs bed waiting to get varnish, red stained timber from years of contact with red wine. The othe picture, a pot from a barrel only ever used for white wine.

18.01.2022 Preparing some more candle holders for the very talented Joanne Kite-Darrie to paint for her exhibition.

17.01.2022 Here we have a table varnished and ready for collection, with the coopers logo stamped on the outside of a barrel. In the other photo, something I have never seen before, I cut open a barrel to make some pots and there is the coopers logo, on the inside of the barrel.

17.01.2022 Its always a bit tricky to get an idea of scale. On the left is the head from a hogshead barrel, this is what I usually make clocks from. On the right is the clock I am working on at the moment, in the middle is a can of coke, just to give an idea of the scale.

17.01.2022 Someone else is getting a table for Christmas

16.01.2022 This one has a party trick.

15.01.2022 Getting the numbers burnt in for the second time, getting closer to finishing.

13.01.2022 A special order candle holder, getting the varnish to dry this time of year is a challenge. Hope to have it ready by the middle of next week.

13.01.2022 One of several projects out of the workshop this week.

13.01.2022 Two side tables ready for paint and varnish

12.01.2022 Touching up the sanding on some whole barrels, got my supervisor keeping an eye on the job.

11.01.2022 The sign writer has been busy with another clock. Im always keen to see what he comes up with. I am currently making a few more for him. Watch this space.

11.01.2022 Delivered this fruit bowl to my friend, the talented Joanne Kite-Darrie she will work her magic on with indigenous artwork. Looking forward to seeing the finished artwork.

11.01.2022 My friends at Chief Catering have produced a promotional video

10.01.2022 One of several barrels being sanded and varnished. Some for dog kennels, some for pots, and a couple, like this one, as a piece of furniture in someones outdoor area. This one will varnished and have castors added.

10.01.2022 Remember the blank clocks I sent to the sign writer. This is the result. Thanks for sharing your work Mark Stokes

10.01.2022 Some photos sent to me from a customer. This was a custom built sphere where she asked me to add a horizontal ring to the standard 4 ring sphere. The paintwork and mounting I can take no credit for at all. That’s entirely her work. Thanks for sharing Kerryn, it looks fantastic.

09.01.2022 This is the seat section of a bar stool, doweled and glued, tomorrow I will plane it and trim it down to size.

08.01.2022 In amongst dog beds, side tables, and a couple of whole varnished barrels with doors i have made one special order candle holder, I need to make matching one and another couple of interesting things to go with them.

07.01.2022 Candle holder finished, all ready to go to its forever home. I hope the customer likes it.

07.01.2022 Is it unlucky to open all umbrellas inside?

07.01.2022 Doors are on, bit of tweaking to be done to them, but getting closer.

07.01.2022 Meet Jed, another lucky dog with a new bed. He looks like a happy customer.

06.01.2022 Stencil arrived from England today, first 6 numbers done. Hopefully it will be ready for the customer by next weekend.

04.01.2022 All done, coat of paint on the bands tonight, should be ready for the customer by the end of the week. That is if I can get the varnish to dry

03.01.2022 Paint the ring, and varnish, almost done.

03.01.2022 This is going to be a clock, a big clock, more than 200 mm bigger in diameter than my standard clock. The minute hand is 300mm long, or 1 foot if you still work in imperial measurements. I love making special orders

03.01.2022 Another great photo from a customer, I delivered this a few weeks ago. Heater on top for winter and an umbrella stand built in for summer. looks like nice cosy spot there Wendy, thank you for sharing Wendy.

02.01.2022 This one is all finished, need to make another half a dozen.

02.01.2022 Joanne Kite-Darrie sent this to me yesterday, I made these for her a month or so ago, I supply them just as sanded but unpainted pieces. Now they are ready for her exhibition that starts this weekend. If you are near Victor Harbor over the next few weeks call into see her work at Middleton Art and Craft Pop-up Gallery on the main road in Middleton. Her exhibition starts this Saturday, and is open from 10.30 until 3.30 every day until the end of August. Call in and say hello and have a look at the other work from this very talented artist.

01.01.2022 Game of thrones?

01.01.2022 I consider myself very fortunate, I get to collaborate with some very talented artists. A few weeks ago Mark Stokes came and collected this blank clock. Today he sent me these pictures of the finished project. Im sure you will agree, the transformation is amazing. Thanks for sharing Mark.
