22.01.2022 A lot of people had not heard of the island of Borneo prior to the Second World War. The Japanese were brutal occupiers the island. The local Dayak trips worked with the Allies to help defeat the Japanese. The story can be found in an exhibition from the Australian War Memorial https://www.awm.gov.au/visit/exhibitions/a-matter-of-trust

21.01.2022 It is never nice to hear about something like this happening. Longhouses, unfortunately, lend themselves to total destruction from fire. Everyone in the longhouse needs to be vigilant. Sorry to hear about this.

14.01.2022 Layang Layang lies in the South China Sea some 300 km or so North-West of Kota Kinabalu. It is a unique dive destination, located on an atoll used by the Japanese during WWII. You will experience some phenomenal diving here. 11.01.2022 We have said before that Borneo is just one part of the Asian experience. While in the region, there are also some magnificent places to visit in Peninsular Malaysia. Ipoh is not a place which springs to mind, however, it could be worth including on your Peninsula Malaysia itinerary. Borneo Tour Specialists can help to get you there. 09.01.2022 Malaysia has just extended its border closure for international travellers until 31 December. That means that travel to Sarawak and Sabah is off limits to tourists, as well as the usual route you would normally take to get there (via Kuala Lumpur). The majority if the Indonesian part of Borneo - Kalimantan - is still closed to international travellers, although Kutai National Park is open. There could, however, be problems actually getting there. Travel would need to be via ...Jakarta. Travel is possible to Brunei, however, any arriving traveller is required to spend 14 days in isolation in a hotel at their own expense from the time of arrival in the country. At this time, we would suggest that you delay your travel plans to Borneo until it is possible to travel unimpeded. Spend the time researching for your trip. In some ways, the lack of tourists is going to help the environment and the wildlife. The diving at Sipadan is going to be amazing!
