19.01.2022 As Dry July is about to begin, one of our favourites, Ben Money, is taking on a big challenge to raise money for something very close to his, and all of our hearts. Take a read of his note below, and if you can, support his efforts with a donation or by joining him for a run or walk, this Dry July! http://www.dryjuly.com/users/ben-money During the month of July I’ve decided to get behind a great cause and try my best to stay dry in July. ... This cause meaning considerably more to me this year as my mum, Paula Money also known as the worlds greatest mum, has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing treatments. Any and all donations are welcome so please help me reach my goal. If donations aren’t your thing right now because of everything that’s okay that’s fine because I’ve got another way you can help me raise awareness. Throughout July I also plan to run/walk 150km to symbolise the hardship that mum has gone through over the last 150 days. I hope to get a bunch of different people to join me whenever they can to raise awareness for 2 main reasons Being proactive- go and see your doctor if something doesn’t feel right. That’s their job, not yours, if something isn’t right don’t try and diagnose it yourself or put it to the back of your mind and tell yourself not to worry. If something’s wrong even in the slightest bit don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor. Mental Health- it’s been a tough journey for our family over the last few months but the love and support of everyone has kept us going especially mum. Over the course of the 150km I hope to run/walk with as many of you as possible. I’ll run/walk at whatever pace you want and you can even set the date and the time, Wether it be to have a race or you just want to hang out and have a chat If you want to follow my running/walking feel free to follow me on strava or insta (@beamgut) I’ll be posting on both very regularly #AllMyLife

09.01.2022 This Saturday, our 2019 Senior Men’s Best & Fairest winner Charlie Molyneux lines up for his beloved Gawler Central Football Club in the Barossa Light & Gawler League Grand Final. During the week, Charlie won his second Schluter Medal, for the Best & Fairest player in the league. He spoke recently about his 2020 journey, his time at Greensborough and the impact our skipper Chris Clark had on him.... 06.01.2022 All followers of the mighty GFC. The NFNL has announced today that the 2020 season has been cancelled. Whilst this is saddening news, the NFNL made this decision in full consultation with all clubs in mind. The protocols and safety measures required to be implemented was a huge burden on the volunteers of the club.... The executive will hold a meeting early next week to go through the club finances and will be in contact to discuss payments already made. Further announcements will be made towards the end of the month once we have a clearer guideline on Covid restrictions being lifted. Please continue to adhere to the rules and remain safe and feel free to contact us if you required further information. 03.01.2022 Vale Joan McDowell It was much sadness and regret that we inform you of the passing of Joan McDowell after a long battle with illness. Joan is the loving wife of one of our few Legends of the Club Don McDowell. Don and Joan have been married for 67 years, so we can understand the impact this will have on Don and the entire McDowell family. Joan was a mother of 7 (6 boys and 1 girl) and many of those in the family represented the Greensborough Football Club, with Bruce, Mal...com, Andrew and Neil all playing senior and/or reserve grade football at the club. The McDowell tradition continues to this day, with Joan’s only daughter (Karen) being none other than the mother of Ben Fennell, now an integral part of our senior team. Joan was also the step-daughter of Jack Partington, who was the brother of Alan and the uncle of both Gary and another GFC legend Trevor Partington. Joan had certainly spent a lot of time in the thick of the GFC family. The Greensborough Football Club sends it’s sincere condolences and thoughts to the entire McDowell family during this difficult time. See more
