22.01.2022 Good morning Eyewatchers. I will be your friendly neighbourhood spid Highway Patrol Supervisor this morning. We are in the midst of Operation Saturn at the ...moment. What is Saturn you ask. Well it is the sixth plant from the sun and the second largest planet in our solar system which is known for the beautiful ring around it. Why does it have a ring? Well it was God's favourite planet. He liked it so much that he thought he better put a ring on it... Ohhhh, you meant what is Operation Saturn?? Well that's different. Operation Saturn is the amalgamation of 2 separate road policing operations we run this time of year covering the AFL finals and the Spring Racing Carnival. These unprecedented (I'm so over that word) times meant the finals were late so it made sense to join them. We are targeting the usual crash culprits, speed, drink/drugged drivers, seat belts, fatigue and distraction offences. That last one was the cause of the first job for this morning involving a vehicle being driven down a smaller side street and a moments inattention causing the driver to clip a parked car and end up on it's side. Thankfully the driver wasn't hurt but it is a good example of how the start of your day can end up quickly as a pile of mush if you don't pay attention Take care out there people. We will be watching. #OperationSaturn Sgt Paul Go Tiges!!!!!!! See more

21.01.2022 If you drink or take drugs or both be aware the police are focusing on drivers who break the law. It is their annual operation and I am sure it will be very effective especially now there are more drivers on the road. This also means please drive within the speed limit for yourself, family and other road users. Remember speed, alcohol and drugs can kill or severely maim.

20.01.2022 Good evening Eyewatchers. It was a sombre week this week for Nunawading Highway Patrol as they said goodbye to the last Holden in their fleet. The Holden Comm...odore was the mainstay in the fleet for Victoria's Highway Patrols over the last 40 years but has now handed over the torch to BMW. Credit to Yiwen Song, a Police car aficionado who came in to capture this image of our car as it made it's way to the Great Auction House in the sky. Sgt (Melancholy) Paul See more
